Ranji Trophy 2025, Round 6: The 2025 red-ball cricket season in India is set to commence on January 23, marking the return of the Ranji Trophy across the nation. Following a hiatus of nearly two months, the tournament resumed after players participated in the white-ball competitions, namely the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. This edition of the domestic red-ball tournament is anticipated to attract considerable attention, as several senior Indian players have expressed their availability for selection in one or both of the initial matches. Notable players such as Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in their respective teams' rosters. In contrast, former captain Virat Kohli has withdrawn from Delhi's opening match upon the resumption of the Ranji Trophy due to a neck injury, although he is expected to return for the subsequent match against Railways, which begins on January 30.

With Rohit included in Mumbai’s 17-member squad alongside fellow Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, a substantial turnout of spectators is anticipated at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s BKC facility on match day.

However, seating arrangements are limited to a maximum of 500 individuals, as the Mumbai team has consistently played its league matches in the Ranji Trophy at this venue.

“Enhanced security measures have been implemented, and we have also expanded the seating capacity for fans to accommodate up to 500,” stated an MCA official to PTI.
