Rajasthan Royals Address Fixing Allegations, Call for Action Against RCA Ad-Hoc Committee Head

On the evening of April 22, 2025, Rajasthan Royals addressed the accusations of match-fixing made by Jaideep Bihani, the convenor of the ad-hoc committee of the Rajasthan Cricket Association. As reported by Sportstar, the franchise sent a letter to the Rajasthan government and the state's Sports Council, urging them to take stringent action against Bihani.

Bihani's allegations arose following Rajasthan's narrow defeat to Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on April 19, where they fell short by just two runs while chasing a target of 181. This marked the second instance in four days that the 2008 IPL champions faltered in a run chase, having previously lost to Delhi Capitals in a Super Over.

The Royals denounced the allegations as "entirely false and unfounded" in their correspondence with state sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and the Sports Council. The letter stated, "Jaideep Bihani, convener of the ad-hoc committee of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), has made statements regarding the performance of Rajasthan Royals in recent matches, raising doubts about their integrity and suggesting manipulation in IPL matches."

Furthermore, the letter highlighted that Bihani accused the Rajasthan Royals management, the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI of colluding to exclude the RCA ad hoc from IPL participation. The franchise firmly asserted that all allegations made by Bihani are completely unfounded and lack any supporting evidence.

Rajasthan Royals also criticized Bihani, a BJP MLA from Sriganganagar, for damaging the franchise's reputation with his unfounded claims. They stated, "These public allegations severely harm the reputation and image of Rajasthan Royals. Such remarks have unnecessarily intensified the controversy and misled the public, while also undermining the credibility of Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Royals franchise."]}  ```  Note: The output is presented in the specified JSON format without any additional formatting.  ```  {

We urge the Sports Council and the State Government to implement all essential measures to prevent and manage such behavior. We are reaching out to you with complete confidence in your leadership. We trust that you will take suitable action in this regard...

Rajasthan is scheduled to compete against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday, April 24, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, before returning home to face the Gujarat Titans on April 28.
