The ongoing conflict between Sanju Samson and the Kerala Cricket Association has become widely recognized. This dispute initially gained attention when Samson was excluded from the Kerala squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and it has since escalated into a significant confrontation, with serious accusations being made by the cricketer's father against the association. Viswanath, Samson's father, has alleged that the KCA has damaged and potentially jeopardized his son's career, referring to certain individuals within the organization as 'small people.' In a revealing interview with Sports Tak, he elaborated on the purported conspiracies orchestrated by the KCA against his son.

Samson's strained relationship with the Kerala Cricket Association is not a recent development; it has roots that extend back to his childhood. According to Viswanath, the KCA has been intent on undermining Samson's career since he was just 11 years old. Nevertheless, amidst this turmoil, Viswanath asserts that his son found solace following an intervention from the esteemed Rahul Dravid. He recounted how Dravid's involvement played a crucial role in revitalizing Sanju Samson's career, highlighting the former India captain's contributions to securing a brighter future for his son.

"I would like to share an incident involving Rahul Dravid. When the KCA attempted to sideline Sanju and jeopardize his career, Dravid ji stepped in. Sanju's current position is largely attributable to Rahul Dravid. I have not forgotten those who have shown us kindness and support. During the period when actions were being taken against Samson, they had returned his kit and other belongings. One day, while we were feeling despondent at home, Sanju received a call from Rahul sir. He was overwhelmed with joy and answered the phone in tears. The atmosphere in our home was quite gloomy," Viswanath stated during his interview with Sports Today.

'They' jealous but don't you worry, Dravid told Samson

Dravid and Samson subsequently shared the same dressing room at Rajasthan Royals during the IPL 2013 season. It is widely acknowledged that Dravid was present during Samson's trials for the franchise and was greatly impressed by his formidable batting skills. Recognizing Samson's potential, Dravid made it his mission to ensure that such talent did not fade into obscurity.

"After hanging up the phone, he informed me, 'It was Rahul sir.' He said, 'Sanju, I am aware of everything that is happening with you. They are all envious of you. Do not worry. Keep your spirits high. I have taken care of it. Focus on your training and prepare for NCA.' He operated at a level beyond the KCA and took Sanju under his guidance," Samson Viswanath added.
