Despite Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) securing a victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the current Indian Premier League (IPL), actress and PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta praised Abhishek Sharma for his 'remarkable innings' against her team. On Sunday, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to encourage her team to "move on from tonight's match."

In her tweet, Preity expressed, “Tonight is Abhishek Sharma's night! What an extraordinary talent and an unbelievable innings. (Clapping hands emojis) Congratulations to SRH! As for us, it’s best to forget this match and focus on the future, as it’s still early in the tournament and such games are best left behind. SRHvPBKS.”

In a subsequent tweet, she acknowledged, "A huge shout out to Shreyas Iyer, Priyansh Arya, Prabsimran Singh, and Marcus Stoinis for their outstanding performances tonight. Preity, a co-owner of Punjab Kings, consistently makes it a point to support her team from the stands. On Saturday, she was seen enthusiastically cheering for the players at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, dressed in red, the primary color of the Punjab Kings' jersey.

About the SRH vs PBKS match

In the match, Abhishek and Travis Head formed a formidable partnership, amassing 171 runs and easily surpassing the 246-run target set by PBKS. This chase marks the second-highest in IPL history. Previously, PBKS had scored 245/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to impressive performances from Shreyas Iyer and Marcus Stoinis.

Abhishek Sharma scored 141 runs off 55 balls, hitting 14 fours and 10 sixes, achieving the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history. He received support from Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan in successfully chasing down the substantial total.
