Australia, under the leadership of Pat Cummins, secured a six-wicket victory in the Sydney Test against India, thereby clinching the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This triumph marks Australia's first Test series win against India in a decade, prompting the home team to celebrate exuberantly well into the night.

Travis Head posted an image on his Instagram Story, showcasing himself swirling his finger in a pint of beer alongside a selection of cheeseburgers.

Head, along with debutant Beau Webster, indulged in the festivities, as Webster later disclosed. Throughout the series, Australia consistently demonstrated superiority over India, making the final score of 3-1 unsurprising.

The Sydney Test concluded in the second session of Day 3, with Australia comfortably chasing down a target of 162 runs. The absence of Jasprit Bumrah on the third day due to back spasms eased the challenge for the hosts.

“It’s sunk in a little bit overnight. The celebrations were good. We had a few beers in the SCG members' bar. It was a great, great week and capped off with a brilliant night," Webster was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Trav’s always good [for a night out]. Me and I were going relatively hard on the beers. I’m a little bit rough this morning, as I think a few of the boys are. It was a really good night sitting in your whites talking with the lads about all things life. It was really special," he added.

Beau experiences a remarkable debut

Beau Webster made an impressive debut as he scored the decisive runs for Australia in Sydney. He accumulated a total of 96 runs over both innings and also claimed the wicket of Shubman Gill during the second innings.

Reflecting on his experience of hitting the winning run, Webster remarked, "I certainly wasn’t going to give Heady the chance [to hit the winning runs]. When there were four runs needed and only one ball remaining, I stated, ‘I’m either getting out here or it’s going to the boundary’. How often does one get the opportunity to score the winning runs for their country, especially in the fifth and final Test?"

“It’s a dream. There was a time in my life when I thought this opportunity might have slipped away from me. Receiving the call-up for the fifth and deciding Test made me a bit nervous, to be honest, but once I took a catch and scored a few runs, it felt like business as usual. It was a fantastic week," he continued.

With their victory in the Sydney Test, Australia secured their place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The defending champions are set to compete against South Africa at Lord's Cricket Ground from June 11 to 16.
