Novak Djokovic is gearing up to compete in the upcoming Miami Open, marking his return to the Masters 1000 event for the first time since 2019. He’s aiming to snag his first title there since 2016, adding to his impressive record as a six-time champion.

Recently, he was seen training with Andy Murray at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, looking to turn things around after suffering three consecutive losses.

Murray, who announced his retirement last year, has joined Djokovic's coaching team for the 2025 season. He made his debut in Melbourne, but Djokovic's performance was disappointing, as he had to retire during the semi-finals of the Australian Open due to injury.

Djokovic is also on the hunt for his 100th ATP title, which would be his first since last August. Lately, he seems to be lacking motivation, having participated in only a few tournaments towards the end of last year. Additionally, he’s been dealing with some injuries and fitness concerns.

In Melbourne, he made headlines by taking down Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals, but unfortunately, he also picked up a hamstring injury. During his semi-final match against Alexander Zverev, he had to retire after just the first set. He made a comeback in Doha but lost in the first round, and then at Indian Wells, he was knocked out in the second round, marking his third consecutive defeat.

After his exit from the Australian Open, there were whispers that Murray might hang up his racket for good. However, his appearance in Miami indicates that he’s still part of Djokovic's team and is likely to stick around at least until December.

Reflecting on his experience after the Australian Open, Murray shared, "I enjoyed some aspects of it. I liked the matches and watching from the sidelines gave me a fresh perspective. I appreciated the analysis, the planning, and the strategy involved. I found it enjoyable, but it was also quite demanding."

He continued, "I'm still pretty new to coaching, so there are many things that as a player, you don’t realize coaches have to think about and manage. Communication has always been a challenge for me, but when you're leading a team, it's crucial to communicate effectively and provide clear guidance. I think I managed it reasonably well, but it was tough and quite demanding."
