Nick Kyrgios' Colorful Rant: 'Just Keep F***ing Serving' Amid Injury Struggles at Australian Open

India, Jan. 13 -- Nick Kyrgios is back in grand slam action after being away from the ATP tour for more than 18 months, kicking things off with a first-round match at his home event, the Australian Open. Unfortunately, the outspoken Aussie faced a tough defeat, losing 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 to a British opponent. True to form, Kyrgios was his usual loud and fiery self, even as he battled through the match.

Known for his vibrant personality on and off the court, Kyrgios was clearly feeling the physical strain in the first set. He was dealing with an abdominal injury alongside ongoing knee and wrist issues, which had already forced him to withdraw from an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic at Melbourne Park. This discomfort seemed to affect his serve throughout the match.

At one point during the first set, trying to pump himself up and connect with the crowd, Kyrgios shouted, "Just keep f***ing serving, alright? I'm here now. I'm here now so I may as well just keep serving," which the broadcast caught.

Kyrgios was letting loose with a bunch of curse words as he got more and more frustrated with his performance in the first set, which just wasn’t up to his usual standards. The broadcasters had to apologize for his outbursts since they were clearly heard during the match, with commentator Mikey Perera noting, "You can see Nick Kyrgios is starting to vent again. I’ll keep apologizing, everyone. It might keep coming, the bad language from Kyrgios. He’s just letting off steam to his team."

Kyrgios is known for his fiery and outspoken nature on the court, often getting into verbal spats not only with umpires but also with fans. However, that didn’t work in his favor at John Cain Arena during his first match, as Scotsman Fearnley managed to stay focused despite the loud crowd and Kyrgios’ antics.

Fearnley kept climbing the ranks as he navigated the first set tiebreaker and then took advantage of a sluggish Kyrgios to win the second set with ease. Kyrgios seemed to find his rhythm in the third set, serving better and engaging the crowd, but Fearnley played the crowd just right to clinch the match.
