Nicholas Pooran, the prominent batter for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), recently encountered a fan who had been struck by one of his sixes during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans at the Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow. This meeting took place during a training session in preparation for the franchise's upcoming IPL 2025 match in Lucknow.

On April 12, during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, one of Pooran's sixes accidentally hit a fan in the head while he was in the stands, resulting in a bleeding injury. The fan was subsequently taken to the hospital for evaluation. In that same game, Pooran impressively hit seven sixes, leading the Lucknow Super Giants to a six-wicket victory, successfully chasing down a target of 181 with two balls remaining.

Prior to the match against Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Stadium, Pooran took the opportunity to meet the same fan during a training session, where he gifted him a signed cap.

During their interaction, Pooran inquired, "Is everything alright?" to which the fan responded with a thumbs-up gesture.

The fan expressed his gratitude towards Pooran for taking the time to check on him. He stated, "It feels really good. I only came here to meet him because he had a scheduled phone call. He asked me, 'How are you doing?' I plan to attend the match between LSG and Delhi Capitals. Even if I get hit again, I’m not worried. I just want Lucknow to keep winning," the fan remarked.

The official X account of Lucknow Super Giants shared a video of this heartwarming interaction, captioned, "Bas apni Lucknow ki team jeetti rehni chahiye.”

Pooran standout performer for Lucknow Super Giants

Nicholas Pooran has emerged as the key player for the Lucknow team, which is captained by Rishabh Pant. The left-handed batsman currently ranks second in the Orange Cap standings, having accumulated 368 runs over eight matches, boasting an impressive average of 52.57 and a strike rate of 205.58.

Should Pooran exceed 51 runs in his next performance, he will claim the Orange Cap, surpassing the current leader, Sai Sudharsan of the Gujarat Titans.

Pooran began the tournament with remarkable form; however, he has struggled to find his rhythm in the recent matches against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The Lucknow Super Giants are presently positioned fifth in the points table. A victory against the Delhi Capitals would elevate them to second place, trailing only the Gujarat Titans.

Conversely, the Delhi team, led by Axar Patel, holds the second position in the points table, having secured 10 points from seven matches.
