The Pakistan Super League experienced an intense on-field confrontation on Tuesday night during the match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United, as Colin Munro accused Iftikhar Ahmed of throwing, igniting dramatic events that eclipsed a significant portion of the cricketing play in Multan.

The event occurred in the 10th over as Islamabad pursued a target of 169. Iftikhar, attempting a yorker directed at Munro's feet, was met with an unexpectedly animated reaction from the New Zealand batsman. Munro, who managed to effectively play the delivery, turned toward the bowler and gestured multiple times to indicate that Iftikhar had improperly bent his elbow while bowling – a clear charge of throwing.

His gestures included imitating a bent-arm bowling action, which was evidently captured on the broadcast.

Iftikhar was not pleased with the accusation. He approached the umpire directly, seeking clarification and likely protesting Munro's gestures. The umpires intervened quickly, attempting to diffuse the situation before it escalated. Nonetheless, the tension extended beyond just the two players – numerous Multan Sultans players gathered around Iftikhar, clearly displeased with Munro's demeanor.

Pakistan captain and Multan leader Mohammad Rizwan soon became involved, seen confronting Munro in a video shared by PSL’s official social media account. The clip rapidly gained popularity, with fans split over Munro’s behavior and the intense reaction it elicited.

At the moment of the clash, Munro was scoring 40 off 23 balls, leading a robust chase that eventually resulted in Islamabad achieving a seven-wicket win. He got out soon after, being dismissed for 45 off 28, caught by Iftikhar Ahmed. The off-spinner concluded the evening with statistics of 0 for 20 from his two overs.

Looking back at the game, Rizwan confessed that his team did not score enough runs: “We were 15-20 short, the ball was gripping a touch and the second innings it was completely different. We felt 180-plus was a safe score… There will always be pressure when you lose and hopefully we will improve going forward. ”
