Liverpool achieved a commanding 6-3 victory against Tottenham in their most recent Premier League match on Sunday. The Reds opened the scoring with a goal from Luis Diaz in the 23rd minute, followed by Alexis Mac Allister extending the lead to 2-0 in the 36th minute. Tottenham's James Maddison pulled one back in the 41st minute, but Dominik Szoboszlai quickly restored Liverpool's two-goal advantage just before the half-time whistle, making it 3-1.

In a second half characterized by offensive action, Liverpool maintained their dominance, scoring four additional goals while Tottenham struggled to equalize. Mohamed Salah netted his first goal in the 54th minute and added another shortly thereafter. Dejan Kulusevski ignited a brief resurgence for Tottenham with a goal in the 72nd minute, and Dominic Solanke followed suit 11 minutes later, but it was insufficient to alter the outcome as Liverpool secured their victory.

In what is likely to be Salah's final season with Liverpool, his impressive performance, which included two goals and two assists, made him the first player in Premier League history to achieve double figures in both categories before Christmas. He currently boasts 15 goals and 11 assists this season, leading the Golden Boot race ahead of Erling Haaland, who has scored 13 goals.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Salah remarked, “I didn't think about it before the game, to be fair. But it's something that makes me happy and proud. I just keep working hard,” he added.

Liverpool's manager, Arne Slot, commended his team's performance following the match. He stated, “Until 60-65 minutes [in], I really, really, really enjoyed what I saw. But then you also saw that, no matter how much quality players have, they think they don't have to run anymore. In this league, especially against Tottenham because they are so good with the ball, they immediately start to create. And that's what they did, and they scored two goals. I was happy that the sixth one went in, to be fair,” he concluded.

As it stands, Liverpool leads the Premier League table with 39 points from 16 matches, ahead of second-placed Chelsea, who have accumulated 35 points from 17 games.
