Former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill reminisced about his experiences opening the batting with India’s current ODI and Test captain, Rohit Sharma. Following his impressive display in the Legend 90 League, Guptill expressed his admiration for Sharma and conveyed a wish to partner with him again at the top of the batting order.

When reflecting on his outstanding performance, Guptill was asked whom he would prefer to open the batting with, to which he replied, "I've opened with him before, I enjoy batting with Rohit Sharma." During the 2016 IPL season, Guptill had the privilege of batting alongside the Indian star while playing for the Mumbai Indians. Both players are celebrated for their explosive batting styles and their ability to hit sixes effortlessly, making them a powerful combination in limited-overs cricket.

In addition to his desire to reunite with Rohit Sharma, Guptill expressed his enthusiasm for facing Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. "I would want to face Hardik Pandya. We have had some amazing battles over the years," Guptill remarked, alluding to the intense rivalry between the two. Pandya, recognized for his speed and aggressive play, has been a pivotal player in India's white-ball team, and Guptill’s eagerness to compete against him underscores the mutual respect and competitive nature shared by both athletes.

Guptill, renowned for his impactful batting, astonished the audience with an unbeaten score of 160* off merely 49 deliveries while representing the Chhattisgarh Warriors. His explosive innings, which included 16 sixes and 12 fours, single-handedly dismantled the Big Boys Unikari, who could only accumulate a total of 151 runs. This remarkable performance propelled the Warriors to a decisive 89-run victory and established a new record for the highest total in the tournament, exceeding the 200-run threshold for the first time.

Martin Guptill's record-setting display in the Legend 90 League further solidified his status as one of the premier white-ball hitters of the contemporary era. His century was achieved in just 34 balls, marking the fastest in the tournament, as he continued to dominate the bowlers. This extraordinary inning left both fans and analysts in admiration, demonstrating that even though he may be past his peak, Guptill's power-hitting prowess remains formidable.

Similarly, Rohit Sharma reaffirmed his position among cricket's elite with a commanding century against England just days prior, making the prospect of an opening partnership between the two even more enticing for enthusiasts of explosive cricket.
