Former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill reminisced about his experiences opening the batting with India’s current ODI and Test captain, Rohit Sharma. Following his impressive display in the Legend 90 League, Guptill expressed his admiration for Sharma and conveyed a wish to partner with him again at the top of the batting order.

When reflecting on his outstanding performance, Guptill was asked whom he would prefer to open the batting with, to which he replied, "I've opened with him before, I enjoy batting with Rohit Sharma." During the 2016 IPL season, Guptill had the privilege of batting alongside the Indian star while playing for the Mumbai Indians. Both players are celebrated for their explosive batting styles and their ability to hit sixes effortlessly, making them a powerful combination in limited-overs cricket.

In addition to his desire to reunite with Rohit Sharma, Guptill expressed his enthusiasm for facing Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. "I would want to face Hardik Pandya. We have had some amazing battles over the years," Guptill remarked, alluding to the intense rivalry between the two.
