Legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni didn't pass up the chance to catch the thrilling showdown between India and Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025. The seasoned wicketkeeper was glued to the screen, soaking in the intense rivalry as he watched from the broadcaster's studio. At 43, and having hung up his international boots after the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni previously led India to Champions Trophy victory in 2013, but since then, the team has been chasing an ICC title in the 50-over format.

The broadcasters captured MS Dhoni enjoying the electrifying India vs Pakistan match, and he had Bollywood star Sunny Deol by his side in the studio. The two were seen sitting together, fully engaged in the action, with Dhoni sporting his signature yellow attire, a nod to his ties with Chennai Super Kings. The 43-year-old is also set to participate in IPL 2025, this time as an uncapped player for CSK.

In an electrifying showdown, India showcased their dominance against the Pakistan batsmen with a stellar bowling display. The Indian bowlers consistently picked up wickets, leaving Pakistan struggling at seven down for only 200 runs in the 43rd over.

Just before the big match, Deol teased in a video that he’d be watching the game with a special celebrity, keeping their identity under wraps but dropping hints about a 'seven' connection, leading many to speculate it might be Dhoni.

Rizwan chose to bat first in this high-stakes match

Pakistan's captain, Mohammad Rizwan, won the toss and opted to bat first against India. After losing their opening match, another defeat on Sunday could dash their hopes of making it to the semi-finals.

The two rivals faced off at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, even though Pakistan is hosting the tournament. India is playing their league and potential knockout matches in the UAE.

Pakistan made one change to their lineup from the previous game, bringing in Imam ul Haq to replace the injured Fakhar Zaman. Meanwhile, India kept their team unchanged for this big match.

"It doesn't really matter; they won the toss, so we'll bowl first. The pitch looks a lot like the last game, a bit on the slower side. Our batting lineup is experienced, so we know how to handle slower pitches. We need a solid performance from everyone, both with bat and ball. The last match was tough, which is good. You want to be challenged and see what you're made of," Rohit said during the toss.
