Kylian Mbappe shut down his doubters with an incredible goal against Sevilla during the LaLiga match on Sunday night. The French star, who has faced scrutiny since joining Real Madrid, delivered a fantastic performance in his final game of the year. He kicked things off for Madrid with a breathtaking shot from outside the box in their 4-2 victory. Plus, he set up Brahim Diaz for the fourth goal at Santiago Bernabeu.

Having just turned 26 on Friday, Mbappe had one of his standout performances in a Real Madrid jersey against Sevilla since joining the team. Before the match, Madrid's coach Carlo Ancelotti mentioned that Mbappe's adjustment period was over, and his display on the field certainly backed that up.

The Italian coach mentioned to reporters on Saturday that, "He's done with the adjustment phase. We've already seen a solid version of him, and there's still room for growth."

In the meantime, Mbappe opened the scoring in the 10th minute after Madrid transitioned the ball from the back and found Rodrygo on the left side.

Rodrygo passed it to Mbappe at the edge of the box, who took a touch to control it, another to set up, and then with his third touch, unleashed a powerful shot that left Alvaro Fernandez with no chance. That marked Mbappe's 14th goal of the season across all competitions.

Federico Valverde doubled the lead for the reigning champions Real with a stunning long-range shot just 10 minutes later. Then, in the 34th minute, Rodrygo added a third goal, finishing off a cross from Lucas Vazquez.

Kylian Mbappe faced some backlash earlier this month after missing penalties against Liverpool and Athletic Bilbao.

Before that, he played a key role in Real Madrid's Intercontinental Cup victory, scoring in a 3-0 triumph over Pachuca. The 25-year-old had raised some concerns about his fitness after picking up a thigh injury during last week’s Champions League match against Atalanta. Although he sat out Saturday’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga, he was cleared to make the trip to Qatar.
