Team India arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday to a grand reception as they landed for the second ODI against England, scheduled to take place at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. The atmosphere at Biju Patnaik International Airport was vibrant, with fans and officials from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) present to welcome the Indian team.

At their team hotel, a special red carpet was laid out, accompanied by a traditional folk dance performance to honour the players.

The excitement peaked when renowned Indian batsman Virat Kohli stepped onto the red carpet. Fans erupted in applause, chanting his name as he responded to their admiration with a smile.

In a touching moment, a senior hotel staff member embraced Kohli warmly. The former Indian captain took a brief moment to engage in conversation with the staff member before proceeding inside.

The Indian team aims to capitalize on their strong performance after winning the first ODI in Nagpur. A victory in Cuttack would secure the series for them, while England will be eager to recover and push for a decisive match.

Both teams are set to engage in net practice at Barabati Stadium on Saturday, with England scheduled to train from 1 PM to 4 PM, followed by India from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Barabati Stadium has historically been a challenging venue for India. The Men in Blue have participated in 19 ODIs at this location, achieving 12 victories and suffering seven defeats. However, in their encounters against England at this venue, India trails in the head-to-head record, with the visitors winning three out of five ODIs played here.

The most recent match between these teams at Barabati saw India score an impressive 381/6 in 2017, highlighted by a brilliant century from Yuvraj Singh and the classic performance of MS Dhoni.

OCA President Pankaj Lochan Mohanty highlighted the thorough preparations made for this significant match. “After nearly five years, Barabati Stadium is set to host an ODI match. We have arranged all necessary provisions for spectators, including food, water, and other essential facilities. We urge fans to adhere to security protocols to ensure a seamless and successful event,” he remarked.
