Royal Challengers Bengaluru achieved a decisive victory in Jaipur against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday evening, marking a return to form. This win solidified RCB's standing in the points table, bringing their total to four victories out of six matches. Virat Kohli (62*) and Phil Salt (65) laid a strong foundation for RCB during the chase of 174 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal (40*) also played a significant role in securing the win against his former team.

Following the match, Rajasthan Royals' head coach Rahul Dravid demonstrated his sportsmanship by approaching the RCB players to offer his congratulations, despite using crutches. Kohli stepped in, advising Dravid to remain where he was, assuring him that the players would come to him for the traditional handshake. Dravid responded with a smile and made the effort to walk over to the RCB players to commend them on their impressive victory.

Dravid suffered the injury while playing cricket in Bengaluru ahead of the IPL. However, despite the injury, he is committed towards his role at the Royals.

Virat Kohli continues fine form

Meanwhile,  In the pursuit of 174 runs, Kohli intensified his performance at a crucial moment, advancing from 33 runs off 32 balls to an unbeaten 62 in 45 balls, which featured four boundaries and two sixes. This effort enabled RCB to successfully chase down the target with 15 balls remaining. This marked Kohli's third half-century of the season, bringing his total to 248 runs across six innings, with an impressive average of 62.00 and a strike rate exceeding 143.

Earlier in the match, 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 75 runs off 47 balls to lead the Rajasthan Royals to a total of 173/4, despite facing a formidable RCB bowling attack.

The left-handed opener showcased his skill by hitting 10 fours and two sixes, demonstrating exceptional composure in challenging conditions while his teammates struggled to find their rhythm. Following Jaiswal's exit, Dhruv Jurel capitalized on a missed opportunity from Virat Kohli, stepping up as a finisher with a commendable 35 not out off 23 balls, which included two fours and two sixes, as RR accumulated 59 runs in the final five overs.
