Kohli and Rohit's Fury: The Viral Moment When They Lashed Out at Kuldeep Yadav
1 month ago | 5 Views
It's not unusual to see India captain Rohit Sharma giving a fielder a piece of his mind on the cricket field, but when Virat Kohli joins in, that's a rare sight—maybe the rarest of all. The fielder in question was left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav
During the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between India and Australia on Tuesday at the Dubai International Stadium, both Rohit and Kohli lost their tempers at the same time, letting loose some choice words at Kuldeep.
In the 32nd over of Australia's innings, Kuldeep bowled a delivery to Steve Smith, who skillfully flicked it off his pads and took off for a couple of runs. Virat Kohli, who was on fire in the field, sprinted to the ball, picked it up cleanly, and aimed for the non-striker's end. Seeing Kohli's quick move, Smith and Carey decided against the second run.
But as Kohli's throw came in, Kuldeep chose not to back up and let the ball go instead of collecting it near the stumps. Luckily, Captain Rohit was alert at cover. After he gathered the ball to prevent any overthrows, he unleashed a barrage of expletives at Kuldeep for his blunder.
When the cameras caught Kohli, he also looked pretty furious with Kuldeep and was seen expressing his frustration with some slang.
Shami and Varun steal the spotlight as India dismiss Australia for 264 runs
Kuldeep had a rough outing with the ball today. He bowled eight overs without taking a wicket and conceded 44 runs. However, India performed well overall after Australia chose to bat first.
Mohammed Shami struck early by getting young Coopper Connolly out for a duck on just his ninth ball. Travis Head started off a bit slow but then took the fight to the Indian bowlers until Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed him for 39 runs off 33 balls.
Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne formed a solid partnership, but India kept their composure as Ravindra Jadeja got Labuschagne out for 29. Jadeja also took another wicket when Josh Inglis hit a simple catch to the covers for 11 runs.
At 144/4, the match was evenly poised, but Smith and Alex Carey shifted gears. They added 55 runs for the fifth wicket before Shami bowled Smith out for 73. Glenn Maxwell came in swinging, hitting a six, but Axar Patel got him out on the very next ball.
Carey kept scoring boundaries until a brilliant direct hit from Shreyas Iyer ended his innings at 60. Australia's last two wickets contributed some crucial runs, bringing their total to 264 in 49.3 overs.
