"Kohli and Rohit: Ready to Rise Again at the Champions Trophy"

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his support for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are currently facing criticism, as they prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy next month. Both players have experienced challenging periods recently, particularly during a disappointing red-ball season against New Zealand and Australia. Despite these struggles, they have been included in India's squad for the Champions Trophy, where expectations will once again be high for them to deliver on a significant platform, similar to their performances in last year's T20 World Cup.

They will have the opportunity to regain their form in the three-match ODI series against England, which serves as India's preparation for the prestigious ICC event.

Harbhajan, a star from the 2011 World Cup-winning team, emphasized that elite players like Kohli and Rohit possess the ability to bounce back and expressed confidence in their potential to excel in Dubai next month.

"A great player is one who knows how to make a comeback. Virat Kohli and Rohit are players of immense stature, and they will shine in the Champions Trophy. Their track record in major tournaments, such as the ICC World Cup 2023 and the T20 World Cup, speaks for itself," Harbhajan remarked to the Times of India.

‘India will definitely win against Pakistan’

The Men in Blue will commence their campaign on February 19 against Bangladesh, followed by a highly anticipated match against Pakistan on February 23.

Harbhajan expressed that a significant India vs Pakistan encounter in Dubai is likely to attract considerable attention from supporters of both nations, as he expressed confidence in the Men in Blue's ability to secure victory on this prominent occasion. The last encounter between these two rivals in the Champions Trophy occurred during the 2017 final, where Pakistan triumphed over Virat Kohli's India to claim the championship.

"India is certain to win against Pakistan," Harbhajan asserted with confidence. "This match has been awaited for a long time, and it always generates excitement and anticipation. Dubai hosts a substantial population of both Indians and Pakistanis, ensuring an electrifying atmosphere with immense support for both sides. However, I firmly believe that India will come out on top," he concluded.
