Virat Kohli appears to have developed a budding friendship with Kevin Pietersen. The former England captain, who is currently in India for broadcasting duties during the limited-overs series between the two nations, has been seen in the company of Kohli on several occasions throughout the first two ODIs. In Nagpur, an injured Kohli showed Pietersen his knee injury, which had sidelined him for the series opener, and they later shared a light-hearted moment that elicited laughter from both. On Sunday, while fielding near the boundary, Kohli was again seen laughing and conversing with Pietersen, who was positioned on the sidelines.
The dynamic between Kohli and Pietersen has led to speculation online regarding the nature of their frequent discussions. Some observers suggest that Kohli may be interested in gaining insights about property values in London, where he has spent a significant amount of time since the birth of his son, Akaay. His childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, recently indicated that Kohli intends to relocate to London in the near future, which would mean leaving India behind. Therefore, his inquiries about real estate and property prices may not be entirely unfounded, given that he already owns a residence in the city.
During the commentary of the second ODI, as footage of Kohli and Pietersen engaged in conversation was broadcast, former India opener Aakash Chopra remarked, "Well, he lives abroad most of the time now, so he could well be asking him about real estate in London and some good localities there." Later, when Chopra posed the same question to Pietersen, who was welcomed to the Hindi commentary team, the England legend chose to clarify the situation.
"Never ever assume things. I can use an analogy about assumptions but won't here," he stated.
Pietersen further suggested that his discussions with Kohli were primarily centred around golf, a sport he has embraced enthusiastically. When another former Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina, speculated about this, Pietersen confirmed, "You're not far wrong there, you know. I have told him [Kohli], you've got to start playing golf. What a great game it is."

Virat Kohli's London connect
Kohli dedicated a significant portion of his time in the previous year to London, where he and Anushka Sharma welcomed their second child, Akaay. After missing the home Test series against England, he returned to India to participate in the IPL, subsequently travelling directly to the USA and the West Indies for the T20 World Cup. Following their victory in the tournament, Kohli made his way back to the UK. Although he soon departed for Sri Lanka to compete in the ODIs, he returned promptly. Ultimately, as India commenced their home season with a two-match series against Bangladesh, Kohli rejoined the team and has remained in India since then.
