There are indications that the existing leadership, particularly Kohli, has embraced greater responsibility, especially in response to the perceived lack of preparation and confidence in the younger generation of players.

Upset with handling of Ashwin's retirement

The report indicates that there are apprehensions within the BCCI regarding the management of Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement and whether the team is adequately prepared for the upcoming transitions. Ashwin's decision to retire following the third Test in Brisbane was unexpected, and he returned home the very next day.
