Kohli Returns the Favour: Mimics Rahul’s ‘This Is My Ground’ Celebration After RCB Win

7 days ago | 5 Views

Even as a passionate Virat Kohli celebration was anticipated at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, in response to what KL Rahul had accomplished at the Chinnaswamy earlier this month, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru star simply went about his duties, scored another half-century, and aided his team in climbing to the top of the points table. However, he did have a reply to Rahul's viral performance.

When Delhi triumphed over RCB earlier this month in Bengaluru, Rahul, after scoring an unbeaten 93, celebrated exuberantly on the field following the win with a "This is my ground" gesture. On Sunday, following RCB's revenge for the defeat, Kohli approached Rahul after the game concluded and mimicked the act as Rahul quickly indicated towards the "Virat Kohli Pavilion" in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The two Indian teammates then embraced each other and shared a moment of laughter.

The incident also served as a relief for spectators, who had just witnessed the two in an intense discussion only moments before during the match.

Kohli, Krunal Pandya help RCB win

RCB continued their remarkable streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, achieving their seventh victory with a six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC). Six of those victories came away from their home ground, the highest any IPL team has achieved in a single tournament edition. This win also elevated RCB to the top position on the points table.

Kohli recorded a well-structured 47-ball 51 in RCB's pursuit of 163 and formed a significant 119-run partnership with Krunal Pandya. The all-rounder was the highlight of the evening, remaining not out on 73 off 47 balls, including five fours and four sixes, as RCB met the target with nine balls remaining. It marked Krunal's first fifty since 2016.

RCB, who are now on the verge of reaching the playoffs once more, will next compete against the Chennai Super Kings at their home ground.
