Although the century eluded him, Kohli effectively fulfilled his role in this high-pressure match. He steadied the innings with strategic aggression, absorbed the pressure from the Australian bowling attack, and ensured that India maintained control throughout the chase.

However, Kohli's success was not solely his own; after the swift dismissals of openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma, key contributions from Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and KL Rahul formed vital partnerships with Kohli, facilitating a smooth run-chase.
