Celebrating his 300th One one-day international match, Kohli appeared to be in high spirits while fielding, demonstrating both enthusiasm and sharpness in his performance. Although he struggled with the bat, scoring only 11 runs, India secured a convincing 44-run victory over New Zealand, maintaining their unbeaten status in Group A. They are now set to face the ODI World Champions, Australia, in the semi-finals.

In the eighth over of the match, as Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell sought to stabilize the New Zealand innings, the camera captured Kohli performing Ronaldo's famous 'SIUUU' celebration on the field. Harbhajan Singh, who was providing commentary at the time, also took note of Kohli's spirited display.

Kohli demonstrated impressive form earlier, striking two boundaries off Matt Henry. However, a well-executed shot found its way to Glenn Phillips at backward point, who made another remarkable diving catch, further enhancing his impressive collection of catches.

In the field, Kohli shared a humorous moment with Shreyas Iyer during the chase. Iyer, who had played a determined inning to score a half-century, experienced a lapse in the field. Positioned within the 30-yard circle, he failed to gather the ball and spun around in confusion while attempting to locate it. After struggling to secure it, Kohli approached him in the subsequent over and playfully mimicked his spinning motion, teasing him near the boundary.

India will face Australia in semi-final

India is set to face Australia in the semi-final. Kohli will be eager to take on Australia, as both he and the Indian team seek to avenge their defeat in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The 36-year-old had scored a half-century in that crucial match, but India faced a disappointing loss, missing the opportunity to claim the ODI World Cup trophy for the third time. Meanwhile, New Zealand will compete against Group B leaders South Africa in the second semi-final in Lahore on Wednesday.
