The Karnataka Bulldozers, known as the Sandalwood team and captained by Kiccha Sudeep, will commence their Celebrity Cricket League 2025 journey with a match against the Telugu Warriors. This event is scheduled to take place on February 8 at their home venue in Bengaluru. The home team is allocated the prime-time evening match slot, set to play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium starting at 6:30 PM.

Kiccha Sudeep: Telugu Warriors have a better head-to-head ratio against Karnataka Bulldozers

Kichha Sudeep and his team have been diligently preparing over the past few weeks; however, they are approaching the upcoming match against the Akhil Akkineni-led team with utmost seriousness. “The encounter with the Telugu Warriors on February 8 is expected to be extremely challenging for us. Analyzing the head-to-head statistics, the Karnataka Bulldozers have historically faced difficulties against the Telugu Warriors, who possess a superior winning ratio,” Sudeep remarked.

The captain of the Karnataka Bulldozers further emphasized that his team has consistently put up a strong fight against their opponents. “For example, in the previous season, they competed against us for a chance to advance to the semi-finals. It was not merely about winning; they needed to achieve a specific score within a designated number of overs. Although we lost that match, we ensured they did not qualify either; that illustrates the level of competition we bring. They are an exceptional team, and I am eagerly anticipating this match; it promises to be an exciting contest,” Sudeep stated.

The Telugu Warriors stand as the most accomplished team in the Celebrity Cricket League, having secured the championship title on four occasions out of the five finals they contested. Their sole defeat occurred in 2013, when the Karnataka Bulldozers claimed victory. Notably, the Sandalwood team has participated in the highest number of finals, appearing in seven out of the ten held to date, with their latest appearance last year resulting in a loss to the Bengal Tigers, a team they had previously defeated.
