Karachi Kings kicked off their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season in style, successfully chasing down a daunting 235-run target and handing Multan Sultans a heavy defeat. They didn’t stop there, though; they also took a cheeky shot at their captain, Mohammad Rizwan.

In pursuit of 235 runs, Karachi clinched victory with four balls to spare, thanks to an explosive 101 runs off just 43 balls from opener James Vince. He dominated the Multan bowling attack, making their impressive total seem insufficient. Khushdil Shah contributed significantly with 60 runs off 37 balls, while Tim Seifert added 32 runs off 16 balls, leading Karachi to one of the highest successful chases in PSL history.

But the excitement didn’t end on the pitch. Shortly after their win, Karachi Kings shared a celebratory video on social media with the caption: "No learns, only wins."

This was a direct jab at Multan's captain Mohammad Rizwan, whose memorable quote from early 2024 — “ya toh win hai, ya learn hai” — has sparked a wave of cricket memes online. Karachi even shared an AI-generated clip of Vince and Khushdil dancing to the catchy tune ‘Hulara’ by Indian rapper J Star.

Multan set a target of 234/6, thanks to a solid century from Rizwan, who scored an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls. While he anchored the innings, some criticized him for not picking up the pace early on.

By the end of the 16th over, the Sultans were at 156/3, but that’s when Rizwan started to accelerate. A late surge from Michael Bracewell, who scored 44* off just 17 balls, added some much-needed energy, but it still fell short.

When Multan took to the field to defend their score, it quickly became evident that their total wasn’t enough. Vince wasted no time in showcasing his skills, reaching his century and dismantling bowlers like Abbas Afridi and Shahnawaz Dahani. Karachi only needed five runs in the final over, marking a fantastic start to their season and serving as a wake-up call for Multan.

With this victory, Karachi joined the ranks of teams with a win, while Multan Sultans, along with Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, were left looking for solutions after their opening defeats.
