KL Rahul was spotted getting some treatment on his arm while batting in the nets, raising fresh injury concerns for India ahead of the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The series is tied at 1-1 after three matches as they gear up for the Boxing Day Test.

In a video that’s been making the rounds on social media, Rahul is seen getting care for his right hand while still holding a bat in his other hand. He’s fully suited up in his batting gear too. Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to be in much pain, and there haven’t been any updates suggesting that his participation might be in jeopardy.

Rahul's track record with injuries.

Injuries have really been a tough break for Rahul throughout his career, especially in Test cricket. He seemed to have secured his spot in the middle order late last year, but then a lengthy injury during the home Test series against England sidelined him, allowing Sarfaraz Khan to take over his position. With Rishabh Pant returning and Dhruv Jurel stepping up big time after Rahul's injury, it looked like Rahul was out of the running for the wicketkeeper role.

He was supposed to miss a lot of this series, but when captain Rohit Sharma was unavailable for the first Test, Rahul got the chance to open again. He played a crucial role in India's historic victory in that match, so much so that Rohit shifted back to the middle order for the first time since 2019 to keep Rahul at the top.

In the second pink-ball Test, he was India's second-highest run scorer in the first innings, even as his teammates struggled. Then, in the third Test, he showcased his skills with a brilliant 84 off 139 balls during the Indian first innings, battling through rain delays and helping the team avoid a follow-on, ultimately leading to a draw despite being behind Australia on Day 2.
