KL Rahul, the standout batter for Delhi Capitals, joined the team after their thrilling win against the Lucknow Super Giants earlier this week. In a nail-biting match in Visakhapatnam, the Capitals managed to clinch victory by just one wicket, thanks to Ashutosh Sharma's impressive performance, scoring an unbeaten 66 off only 31 balls.

Rahul missed the first match due to personal reasons, as he and his wife, Athiya Shetty, recently welcomed their baby girl. The DC squad celebrated this happy news on social media, sharing a touching video where they performed a cradle celebration for the new parents in the dressing room. This sweet gesture quickly went viral and garnered a lot of love online.

On Wednesday, DC posted a delightful video from a team dinner, showcasing a fun-filled night with the whole squad. The players enjoyed playful antics, including impersonations and light-hearted games.

Rahul stole the show with his hilarious take on the team's mentor, Kevin Pietersen. He not only mimicked Pietersen's unique batting stance but also nailed his voice, playfully asking, “Mate, any guesses?” which had everyone in stitches.

Rahul was with the Lucknow Super Giants from their first season in the IPL (2022) up until last season. The team let him go before the big auction, and the Capitals picked him up for INR 14 crore.

There was a lot of buzz about who would captain DC after Rahul joined, especially since he had led his previous teams (LSG and Punjab Kings). However, reports indicate that Rahul turned down the captaincy role, allowing Axar Patel, who has been with the franchise since 2019, to take over from the departing Pant.

Now that Rahul is part of the team, he’s set to make his debut for the Delhi Capitals when they take on the strong Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 30 in Visakhapatnam.
