In a dominant display, the Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to clinch their third IPL title. Despite losing the toss, KKR controlled the match from start to finish, restricting SRH to a paltry 113 and then comfortably chasing down the target with more than 9 overs to spare.

SRH's performance in the final was one to forget, as they posted the lowest score in IPL final history. Bowled out for just 113 in 18.3 overs, SRH surpassed the previous lowest score of 125/9 by Chennai Super Kings in the 2013 final against Mumbai Indians. The Sunrisers never found their footing in the game, and their struggles were evident throughout their innings.

KKR, on the other hand, demonstrated why they have been the most consistent team this season. The team's top bowler, Mitchell Starc, who had faced criticism for his form earlier in the season, delivered a stellar performance when it mattered the most. He struck in the very first over, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for just 2 runs with a brilliant delivery that moved away late.

The troubles continued for SRH as Travis Head, another key player, was sent back for a golden duck in the next over by Vaibhav Arora, who induced an edge to the slips. With Rahul Tripathi (9) falling within the Powerplay, SRH found themselves at 41/3 after six overs and never really recovered. They managed to add just 20 more runs by the halfway mark, losing another wicket in the process.

The middle and lower order offered little resistance. Shahbaz Ahmed (8) and Abdul Samad (4) could not provide the needed support, while Heinrich Klaasen's 16 was the only notable contribution. Ultimately, SRH's innings folded for 113, the lowest total by a team batting first in an IPL final.

KKR's chase was a mere formality. They raced to 75/1 in the Powerplay, effectively sealing the match early on. Despite losing Sunil Narine cheaply, Venkatesh Iyer and opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz kept up the aggressive pace. Their power-hitting decimated the SRH bowlers, and KKR reached the target in just 9.4 overs, showcasing their dominance.
