Jemimah Rodrigues from India has made her debut in the top 20 of the ICC ODI rankings, landing at a career-high 19th place in the women's 50-over batter rankings, as announced by the ICC on Tuesday.

After a seven-year wait, the 24-year-old scored 102 runs, helping India achieve their highest-ever total of 370 in the second ODI against Ireland in Rajkot. India clinched the match with a 116-run victory, securing a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Jemimah now boasts 563 ranking points, placing her ahead of New Zealand's Suzie Bates in the top 20.

Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana, who is captaining the team against Ireland in the absence of the injured Harmanpreet Kaur, remains in third place with 723 ranking points.

Australia's Ashleigh Gardner has reached a career-best second position in the rankings.

Gardner had a fantastic game, taking three wickets for just 19 runs and scoring an unbeaten 42, earning her the Player of the Match title. She's also hit a career-high in both batting and all-rounder rankings. She’s holding steady at 15th among batters with 604 points, while in the all-rounder category, she’s just behind Marizanne Kapp with 466 points, only eight points shy of the South African.

In the latest rankings update, which reflects performances from the first match of the Women’s Ashes series in Sydney and the initial two matches of the ICC Women’s Championship series between India and Ireland, seam bowler Kim Garth has climbed to a career-best 10th place after taking two wickets for 46 runs.

Australia's captain Alyssa Healy has also made strides, moving up four spots to fifth in the batting rankings after her impressive 70-run innings.

India's opener Pratika Rawal has seen a significant jump, moving up 52 places to 65th after scoring 89 and 67.

Other players making gains include Ireland's captain Gaby Lewis (up four spots to 16th), England's captain Heather Knight (up five to 23rd), England’s Dannie Wyatt-Hodge (up five to 26th), Ireland’s Leah Paul (up 15 to 32nd), and India’s Harleen Deol (up seven to 47th).

Laurens is in charge of the bowlers' rankings

England's new-ball bowlers, Lauren Bell and Lauren Filer, have made some moves in the bowling rankings, with Bell jumping five spots to 17th and Filer climbing three spots to 49th. Meanwhile, Australia's Darcie Brown has also made strides, moving up eight places to 27th.

India's recent victories over Ireland have boosted their points to 35 from 23 matches in the ICC Women’s Championship. Australia leads the pack with 39 points from 24 matches, as all teams compete in three-match series against eight other teams, either at home or away.

Other teams securing direct spots for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India include England with 32 points, South Africa with 25, and Sri Lanka with 22. New Zealand (21 points from 24 matches) and Bangladesh (19 points from 21 matches) are still in the running for the final direct qualification spot from the championship.
