The renowned British band Coldplay is poised to captivate the audience in Ahmedabad with a performance scheduled for Saturday, January 25, at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Following three successful shows in Mumbai, Coldplay is anticipated to enchant the people of Ahmedabad with their music. Historically, each Coldplay concert in India has featured lead vocalist Chris Martin acknowledging Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah.

It appears that the band will once again pay tribute to Bumrah during their Ahmedabad performance, celebrating the local sports icon.

In the hours leading up to the concert, Coldplay's official social media account shared an image of a large, uniquely designed ball. The post humorously referenced Jasprit Bumrah, suggesting that even the elite bowler might find it challenging to bowl with such a "badly drawn" ball.

Coldplay also conveyed their enthusiasm for performing in front of a full house at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a capacity exceeding 130,000 attendees.

"I believe even Jasprit might find it difficult to bowl with this poorly drawn ball, but at least it is nearly spherical. It is a true delight to be here at this remarkable stadium and to perform in Ahmedabad for the very first time. WX," Coldplay stated on X (formerly Twitter).

Coldplay mentions Bumrah during Mumbai concerts

During Mumbai concerts, Coldplay talked about Jasprit Bumrah on several occasions. Lead singer Chris Martin also played the clip of Bumrah's dismissal of England batter Ollie Pope during the Test series between India and England last year.

“With respect and love for Jasprit, number one in the world, we hope that we send love to him by showing you this clip of India destroying England,” said Chris Martin.

Speaking of Jasprit Bumrah, the pacer incurred back spasms during the Sydney Test against Australia. As a result, he was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the final Test.

The BCCI's medical team are yet to give an official injury update regarding the pacer. However, he has been named in India's squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Bumrah was also recently named in ICC's Test and T20I Team of the Year.
