Inter Miami has the opportunity to acquire Kevin de Bruyne, as the Manchester City midfield star has confirmed his intention to depart from the 2023-24 Premier League champions at the conclusion of this season. With De Bruyne's contract at City set to expire, he will be available as a free agent, allowing other clubs to pursue him. The Belgian midfielder is anticipated to transition out of Europe towards the latter stages of his career for a lucrative move.

As reported by ESPN, Inter Miami possesses the discovery rights to De Bruyne within Major League Soccer (MLS), which could facilitate a partnership with arguably the greatest footballer of all time, Lionel Messi.

MLS regulations stipulate that clubs may include up to five players on their discovery list at any time. This grants the club exclusive rights to negotiate with those players without facing competition from other MLS teams.

Should De Bruyne choose to join MLS after the season, Inter Miami will have the first opportunity to sign him. The club has already built a formidable roster by bringing in four legends from Barcelona: Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. Adding De Bruyne to this lineup would significantly enhance Messi's chances of securing additional titles for Miami.

At 33 years old, De Bruyne has amassed 14 major trophies since his transfer to City from Wolfsburg in 2015, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.

De Bruyne's contract is set to expire at the end of June, yet it remains uncertain whether he will finish his tenure as a City player during the Club World Cup, which takes place from June 14 to July 13.
