Following a decisive victory that secured the series on Friday, India will face England in the fifth T20I on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The fourth T20I was marked by controversy when Harshit Rana was permitted to replace Shivam Dube as a concussion substitute, subsequently dismissing Liam Livingstone with his second delivery. Dube has since passed the concussion protocols and is eligible to return to the playing XI. Members of the England team have expressed concerns that Rana's substitution for Dube was not a fair like-for-like replacement.

In the fourth T20I, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube both scored half-centuries, contributing to India's total of 181 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Saquib Mahmood took three wickets for England, while Jamie Overton claimed two. In their pursuit of 182 runs, England was bowled out for 166 runs in 19.4 overs, despite a notable half-century from Harry Brook, who scored 51. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Rana each took three wickets.

For the upcoming fifth T20I, Sanju Samson is anticipated to open alongside Abhishek Sharma. Samson has struggled with his form, managing only one run off three balls in the last match. In contrast, Abhishek has excelled, leading the series with 144 runs at an impressive strike rate of 197.26, including 17 fours and nine sixes.

In the previous match, both Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed without scoring. Tilak was out on the first ball, while Suryakumar faced just four deliveries. They are expected to retain their positions, batting at numbers 3 and 4 in the lineup.

Rinku Singh contributed a resilient 30 runs off 26 balls in the last match, hitting four fours and one six. He is likely to maintain his spot in the batting order at number 5, followed by Dube and Pandya, who played pivotal roles in the previous game. Dube was named Player of the Match for his rapid half-century, scoring 53 runs off 34 balls.

Axar Patel is set to occupy the final position as a batting all-rounder in the lineup, following Hardik Pandya. He was out for five runs from four deliveries. The lower-order batsmen will include Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, and Varun Chakaravarthy.
