Champions Trophy 2025 is set to commence on February 19 and will take place across four venues in two countries. In anticipation of the season's inaugural ICC event, the BCCI has unveiled images from the Indian team's photoshoot, featuring Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma showcasing the new jersey designed for the Champions Trophy. A notable aspect of the redesigned jersey is the prominent Champions Trophy branding along with the name of the host nation, Pakistan, displayed in the upper right corner.

India sported the new white-ball jersey during the recently concluded home series against England. Additionally, a modification was made for the Champions Trophy, where the top right corner features the ICC tournament's logo alongside the name of the host country, Pakistan.

Prior to the tournament, there were indications that the BCCI might prohibit the inclusion of Pakistan's name on the Indian jersey. Nevertheless, Devajit Saikia, the newly appointed secretary of the BCCI, subsequently affirmed that the board would comply with the regulations set forth by the ICC. As a result, India did not violate any ICC rules pertaining to uniforms.

"The BCCI will adhere to all ICC uniform regulations during the Champions Trophy," Saikia stated to PTI.

What is ICC's clothing code?

All teams participating in an ICC event are required to display the name of the host nation on their jerseys, regardless of whether the matches are held at neutral venues.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been in conflict for several months leading up to the Champions Trophy. This tension arose after the Indian board informed the ICC that it had not received governmental approval to send its team to Pakistan for the tournament. Following the unrest in Islamabad in December of the previous year, the ICC supported BCCI's request, despite PCB's threats to withdraw, as Dubai was designated as the neutral venue for all matches involving India.

Additionally, there were indications that Indian captain Rohit Sharma would not travel to Pakistan for the captain's photoshoot or the Champions Trophy press conference. However, it was subsequently disclosed that the PCB would not carry out the official photoshoot or the captain's meeting due to "logistical" challenges.
