Another appeal next ball and and this time the umpire gives it. Ajaz reviews, there were two sounds but it is pads first. Impact is umpire's call, wickets hitting. Just shows that India's premier spinner has had a horrendous Test. Ajaz annoys Siraj by unfurling a beautiful cover drive fifth ball to send it to the boundary. Siraj responds by going full and it beats the batter last ball. Beats the batter, does not dismiss him. That is just how unlucky he has been in this spell.

Ravindra consults with Ajaz and then goes upstairs. There is the slighest of flickers on ultraedge as ball passes bat. But the the third umpire says he can also see daylight between bat and ball and so asks Gough to reverse his decision. Always strange when batters are not sure if they nicked a ball or not, especially when they are looking to review a decision that has gone against them. Further replays show that Virat Kohli at first slip was not celebrating at all. He knew.

There is no bother about farming strike now, Southee as comfortable facing deliveries as Ravindra. He is on 59 off 63, Ravindra on 107 off 136.

Southee pushes at the fourth that also swings away and the last is fuller and closer to off stump, beats the batter again. Siraj looked more likely to get a wicket in these first two overs with the new ball than Bumrah.

But we didn't want to change Rishabh and KL [Rahul] and hence Sarfaraz went at four and Virat batted at three. It's a good sign actually, we have players coming up and taking that responsibility and owning up to the challenge. It is a good sign. After a long time, KL has found himself set at number six, so we want to keep ... make him bat there."
