India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: A single in the final over of the day as Gill (33*) and Pant (12*) remain unbeaten for India. India are in a strong position, but Bangladesh will also be aiming for a comeback!

IND: 81/3 (23), lead by 308 runs!

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: A full delivery by Hasan and Kohli is beaten on the inside edge, and gets hit low on the front pad, in front of off! LBW! HE DOESN'T REVIEW!

Kohli lbw b Mehidy Hasan 17 (37)

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Only one run leaked in this over as Hasan keeps it tight! Kohli (11*) and Gill (29*) will look to remain unbeaten and resume batting on Day 3.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: 50 comes up for India as Kohli glances Hasan on the on-side for a single. Kohli (9*) and Gill (22*) will look to build a partnership here!

IND: 28/2 (6.4), lead by 255 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Six runs from this over as Gill takes a double in the third delivery and then smacks Taskin for a four, through the covers. Ends the over with two dots!

IND: 23/1 (5), lead by 250 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Rohit falls now! Short of a good length delivery by Taskin, and it straightens. Rohit can only tap it for a catch!

Rohit c Zakir b Taskin 5 (7)

IND: 15/1 (2.3), lead by 242 runs.

In walks, Shubman Gill.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: The action resumes as Rohit and Jaiswal walk in to open the second innings for India.

India lead by 227 runs.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Siraj wraps it up! He sends a full delivery, outside off. Rana inside edges it back to the wickets! OUT!

Rana b Siraj 11 (11)

BAN: 149 (47.1), trail by 227 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Ashwin flights up the last ball of the 46th over, Miraz nails the slog sweep and that goes all the way into the stands for the first six of this innings. Bumrah to return now with Nahid Rana on strike. Miraz is on 27 off 51 balls, Rana at the other end on two off five.

Bangladesh 140/9 in 46 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: He is inevitable. This is just virtuoso stuff from the master. Bumrah has been bowling them short and nasty towards Taskin all through this session. He bowls three at the Bangladesh batters upper body in this over as well and then, out of nowhere produces the trademark inch-perfect Bumrah yorker. The middle and leg stumps are shattered.

Taskin Ahmed b Bumrah 11 (21)

Bangladesh 130/9 in 42.4 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Ashwin tosses up the fifth ball of the 40th over, Taskin comes down the track and heaves it down the ground. Siraj is at deep mid-off, he dives to his left and the ball hits his outstretched arm. Doesn't stick though. Siraj gets warm applause for that incredible effort, Rahul gives him a pat on his back as well.

Bangladesh 126/8 in 40 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Four runs off that over from Siraj, Bumrah returns and hammers in a bouncer that hits Taskin smack on the helmet. The batters run a bye and then Taskin undergoes a concussion test. Rohit seen having a laugh with Taskin and the Bangladesh physio as they go through the motions.

Bangladesh 117/8 in 38.1 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Taskin drove that last ball from Bumrah handsomely to cover. No runs but a wicket saved as well. Siraj to continue from the other end, India going for the kill now.

Bangladesh 112/8 in 37 overs, trail by 264

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Taskin Ahmed is the new batter in and his first task is facing a rested up Bumrah with a cup of tea in him. Can he survive the one delivery left in this over? Here we go!

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Bangladesh still trail by 264 runs. And 64 runs does feel like a very long way away considering the fact that Rohit Sharma threw the ball to Bumrah for one over towards the end of this session and he took a wicket. That is the relentlessness at which the Indians are working today. So will Rohit enforce the follow on if it is available. Considering how hot it is out there today and how long this Test season, it is likely that India will be batting again even if the follow on is available.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: How Bangladesh would've loved it if Shakib and Litton did not try those sweep shots off Jadeja. They had build the kind of stand that made it look like Bangladesh could stand a chance at challenging the Indian total. The match was already running away from them before that stand but those two managed to make it look like they had put some breaks on the pace at which it was going away from the tourists. Five wickets in this session.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Rohit Sharma had brought back Bumrah for just one over before Tea and he does the job. Of course he does. He is Jasprit Bumrah, what else do you expect! He keeps hitting that nagging good length, Miraz manages to get off strike third ball, then makes Mahmud play with similar deliveries. The first one he defends second he edges straight into the hands of Kohli at second slip.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Miraz trying to hogg the strike but then Mahmud is no mut with the bat. Miraz is on 10 off 14, Mahmud is on nine off 19. Siraj has been brought back now and he is set to bowl the third over of this current spell.

Bangladesh 110/7 in 35 overs, trail by 266 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Another batter falls trying to sweep Jadeja. Floated up fullish delivery outside off from Jadeja first ball of the 31st, Shakib gets down on a knee to sweep, the ball pops up in the air, Pant sprints forward and appeals. The umpires go upstairs, reviewing for a bump ball. Shakib had got a bottom edge to that ball and it bounced up off his boot. That's that for him. Ravindra Jadeja has exposed Bangladesh's tail.

Shakib c Pant b Jadeja 32 (64)

Bangladesh 92/7 in 30.3 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Oh can you believe it, after batting so responsibly and building a fledging of a good stand with Shakib, Litton has thrown it away. Jurel had just walked in and he is immediately called into action. Litton sweeps the second ball of the 29th from Jadeja against the spin, doesn't keep it down. The ball balloons up in the air, Jurel makes good ground from long leg and takes the catch. Partnership ends on 51 off 94.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: A ripple of applause around the Chepauk as Shakib takes a single and the stand trickles to 50 off 91 balls off the fourth ball of the 28th over. Litton takes another single off the last ball of that over bowled by Ashwin, he is on 22 off 40, Shakib on 32 off 57. Bumrah has gone off the field and Dhruv Jurel is standing in for him. Sarfaraz is also out there for Mohammed Siraj and so both of India's new ball bowlers are off the field now.

Bangladesh 91/5 in 28 overs, trail by 285 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Shakib on 31 off 55, Litton on 20 off 36. The partnership between them has now reached 48 and Bangladesh are trailing by 288. We have seen some excellent, patient batting from Shakib and Litton here.

Bangladesh 88/5 in 27 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Jadeja from one end, Ashwin from the other. Now it feels like a Test match in India! We have this happening for the first time 23 overs into this innings. Meanwhile, worrying signs for India as Siraj walks out of the field after being hurt stopping the ball at the long leg boundary.

Bangladesh 79/5 in 23 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: What a session this is turning out to be. High quality everywhere. The Indian bowlers and fielders have been relentless but the reason why Shakib and Litton have survived nearly 10 overs is because they have been almost flawless out there with the bat. There is still a huge mountain that Bangladesh have to climb here, they are trailing by 300 runs. They need a giant partnership here from these two to stand a chance at challenging that total.

Now Ravindra Jadeja gets the ball, he will bowl his first over in the 22.

Bangladesh 76/5 in 22 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: It is just a 26-run stand for now but it has come in good time, just 38 balls. Moreover, these two haven't looked extremely troubled thus far. We are yet to see Jadeja bowl and that might not happen for a while as well. Two runs off the 19th over by Akash Deep, Ashwin to bowl the 20th. Nope, T20 kids, this is not even close to being the last over of the innings. A lot of old timers in the crowd who may be very happy with the fact that they are seeing some attritional Test cricket in this day and age of loud smash and bang white ball cricket. Shakib and Litton keep it nice and tight throughout that 20th over.

Bangladesh are 67/5, trailing by 309 runs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Now Siraj has been taken off after a four-over spell, Ashwin follows up Akash Deep in the 18th over. He starts off his spell with a maiden. Litton on 14 off 22, Shakib on 12 off 15.

Bangladesh 64/5 in 18 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Litton is a man in form, orchestrating Bangladesh's incredible turnaround in the second Test against Pakistan and he is showing it here. Bumrah goes a bit too full first ball of the 15th, Litton drives it square beautifully for four. A single and then Shakib leans into a half volley for another four. Litton gets a rather lucky four third ball of the next over from Siraj, took an edge and went through point. He is on nine off nine at the end of that over, Shakib has the bit between his teeth, literally and maybe figuratively, he is chewing into a thread or something that he has around his neck almost the whole time, especially when he is batting. Akash Deep now replaces Bumrah so that is another three-over spell for the latter.

Bangladesh 58/5 in 16 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: It is searing hot in the afternoon right now in Chennai but Siraj and Bumrah are making the batters feel it much more. A real test of skill and perseverence for Shakib and the new entrant in the crease Litton Das. Siraj just bowled his third over of the session, now Bumrah returns for his third.

Bangladesh 44/5 in 14 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: He just keeps banging them in at good length. Mushfiqur finally plays at one, the slight movement away does him. The ball goes to slips at some pace, KL Rahul takes a sharp catch at second slip.

Mushfiqur c Rahul b Bumrah 8 (14)

India 40/5 in 12.5 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: First ball of the 12th over, Shanto goes after it with hard hands, outside edge and Virat Kohli takes a very sharp catch at second slip. Early wicket in the second session, Siraj had missed out on one in the first but he gets a scalp now.

Najmul Hossain Shanto c Kohli b Mohammed Siraj 20 (30)

Banlgadesh 36/4 in 11.1 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Here we go then Mohammed Siraj to bowl the second over of the second session. Will we see longer spells nowm from Siraj and Bumrah? Siraj is bowling the first over of the session.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Four of India's, three for Bangladesh and it is pretty clear that the latter has hurt the tourists than the former hurt the hosts. Bangladesh are trailing by 350 runs with seven wickets in hand, they need 150 more to avoid the follow-on.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Like India, Bangladesh also lose three wickets inside their first 10 overs. India had more runs at that point though and to make matters worse for Bangladesh, these are much better batting conditions at the moment than what was the case in the first hour of Day 1 yesterday. In fact, Ravi Shastri says that it might get more difficult to bat in the upcoming sessions of the day. This session goes India's way, as did the last session of Day 1 and the hosts continue to have a vice grip on the match.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Bangladesh in tatters here. Almost an action replay of the previous ball, it bursts through Mominul Haque's defence and the off stump is rattled. The Bangladesh dressing room looks quite shaken, Mominul is among their most dependable Test batters and he is gone for a golden duck.

Mominul Haque b Akash Deep 0 (1)

Bangladesh 22/3 in 8.2 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: He has burst right through Zakir's defence and Akash Deep celebrates! Zakir had some issues with the sight screen, wonder if that played a role but that was a jaffa from Deep. On a length and nipping in, it goes between Zakir's bat and pad.

Zakir Hasan b Akash Deep 3 (22)

Bangladesh 22/2 in 8.1 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: This is quite interesting, just a three-over spell for both the new ball fast bowlers. Big cheers around the ground as Ashwin takes the ball in his hands. He had returned to the fielder just before the previous over, probably getting a massage after that long knock.

Bangladesh 18/1 in 7 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Just a three-over spell for Bumrah, wonder if India are trying to keep him from bowling too many overs in this first session with not too much time left. Or the hosts might want Bumrah to send a few in from the other side. Akash Deep has the ball in his hands.

Bangladesh 17/1 in 6 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Four runs off the fifth over, Zakir is on two off 15, Shanto is on seven off nine. Sarfaraz Khan is on the field in place of Ravichandran Ashwin.

Bangladesh 12/1 in five overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Oh Mohammed Siraj would be boiling at the moment. He isn't really showing it though. Siraj celebrappeals off the fifth ball of of the fourth over but umpire Rod Tucker shakes his head. A long chat follows between Rohit and the fielders behind the stumps, Siraj was adamant that India have to go upstairs but the consensus is that the ball is missing the stumps. Bumrah bowls the next over and they show the images on the big screen. It's three reds. Rohit sees and smiles sheepishly at Siraj, so does Pant but the fast bowler has no smile on his face at all.

Bangladesh 8/1 in 4 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: A fiery start from the Indian fast bowlers here.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: He went over the wicket first five balls of the over, for the last ball, Bumrah goes around the wicket. Pitches it at good length and Shadman shoulders arms to leave it. Leave he does and the ball crashes into his off stump.

Shadman Islam b Bumrah 2 (6)

India 2/1 in 1 over

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: All right so the players are warming up on the sidelines. The Bangladesh openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan are out. Jasprit Bumrah set to bowl the first over. Here we go!

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Hasan Mahmud has taken his second consecutive Test five-wicket haul. He thus becomes the first Bangladesh bowler to take a five-wicket haul against India. He squares up Bumrah and the batter edges it to third slip. Taskin Ahmed deserved a couple of wickets yesterday, he had a catch dropped off him today as well. But he gets three wickets on a morning where he was on the money.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Shanto with a sharp catch again as Ashwin tries to go for a big shot. He gets a standing ovation from his home crowd as he walks off. Taskin Ahmed has picked his third wicket of the day. Wide length ball from Taskin, it was a knuckle ball, and Ashwin throws his hands at it. Shanto on the run as it came over his shoulder. If this was Ashwin's last Test match at the Chepauk, there couldn't have been a more fitting way to say goodbye to his beloved home crowd.

Ashwin c Najmul Hossain Shanto b Taskin Ahmed 113 (133)

India 374/9 in 90.5 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Akash Deep heaves at one from Taskin, ball goes high up in the air and captain Shanto makes no mistake. A brisk 24-run stand between Deep and Ashwin ends.

Akash Deep c Najmul Hossain Shanto b Taskin Ahmed 17 (30)

India 367/8 in 88.5 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Akash Deep was dropped by Shakib Al Hasan off the second last ball of the 85th by Taskin Ahmed. He had dropped another catch off Taskin yesterday as well. Shakib is a former captain, he is the greatest player the country has ever produced but he is looking anything but all that. He has rarely been interacting with anyone on the field, whereas one would expect him to be talking to the bowlers when the going gets tough. Moreover, he was taken to the cleaners by Ashwin and Jadeja yesterday, conceding 50 runs in eight overs for no wickets.

India 359/7 in 87 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: He has a first class average of just under 13 and one half-century but he doesn't look anything like that at the moment. Mahmud goes a touch too full with the fifth ball of the 86th, Akash meets it with a sumptuous on-drive, sends it past mid-off to the boundary. He holds the pose as well for good measure. He ends the over on 13 off 20, Ashwin on 107 off 121.

India 358/7 in 86 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Hasan Mahmud starts the 84th over with a rather loose one on the pads, Deep flicks it away to square leg for four. He defends the next ball and then nails the cover drive off the third for another boundary.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: EDGED AND GONE! Taskin with the early breakthrough that Bangladesh would've been desperate for.Jadeja had left deliveries in that channel in Taskin's last over. Not this time though, he plays at it, outside edge and Litton Das takes a straightforward catch. Jadeja gets a standing ovation from the sparse crowd at his IPL home ground. The partnership ends on 199.

Up next for India is Akash Deep.

Jadeja c Litton Das b Taskin Ahmed 86 (124)

India 343/6 in 82.1 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: And it is a streaky one, as had been a few on Day 1 as well. Hasan Mahmud bowled the second over of the day, Ashwin stretches and reaches for a delivery well outside off. Outside edge but well beyond the gully fielder and the ball runs to the boundary. Ashwin 106 off 118 at the end of the 82nd over, Jadeja on 86 off 123. Partnership on 199 off 240.

India 343/6 in 82 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Taskin started off with a yorker-ish delivery that thudded Jadeja on the pads. The bowler appealed but it was going down leg. Jadeja left the next two balls, the fourth hits the pad again but too high for LBW and the fifth is left. Jadeja finally plays the last ball, guides it to slips and so no runs.

India 339/6 in 81 overs

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: All right here we go then. India resume on 339/6. Jadeja is on strike and he is on 86 off 117, Ashwin at the other end on 102 off 112. Partnership between them on 195. Taskin Ahmed to bowl the first over and he has the shiny second new ball in his hands.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: It's Karthik and Kartik on the pitch report today and in short, they say the pitch is now wonderful to bat on.

On Day 1 there was so much swing on offer, there was enough seam movement on offer, there was enough spice to keep everybody interested. Weather - we are starting at 30, it's going to get hotter as the day progresses. With the heat, we saw what happened in the last session. It was very easy to bat on, runs came in a flurry. Today at the start, the new ball will be taken by the Bangladesh team and they'll make use of the conditions which is considerably different to last morning which had a lot more juice for the fast bowlers. If India get through the first half an hour, we can expect a big score from both these batters and probably the lower order can chip in as well. For the moment, Bangladesh have a massive task ahead of them because they need to make the new ball count. The spike marks are a bit more exaggerated. This pitch will not break up through the middle, you'll find work happening from the footmarks, it's going to be tougher for the batters coming in from the footmarks but through the middle it's going to be rock solid and good to bat on at least for the first three days. There is a little bit of moisture, lesser than yesterday morning. It should be a superb day for batting.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: At his beloved home ground, Ashwin currently has 331 runs and counting in five Test matches. He averages 55.16, which is higher than what Dilip Vengsarkar, Rahul Dravid and Mohammed Azharuddin managed in their careers at the ground. Moreover, despite this being only his fifth match, Ashwin's tally of Test centuries at the Chepauk is now the same as those of Gundappa Viswanath (10 Tests), Kapil Dev (11 Tests) and Virender Sehwag (6 Tests).

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Well, the players are out there warming up. India is surely set to bowl towards the end of the first session or at the start of the second session today. In fact, if Bangladesh cannot get them all out within the first half-hour of the day, it will be safe to say that they can kiss goodbye any slender chances they had of getting anything in this Test.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: India were tottering at 34/3 when Virat Kohli fell and that is when Jaiswal was joined by Rishabh Pant, playing his first match in nearly 700 days. Together the pair not only ensured that India did not lose any more wickets in the first session but also started taking thr attack to the opposition towards the end of it. The stand ended when Pant fell due to a rather careless waft outside off stump early in the second session. The pair put up 62 runs off 99 balls for the fourth wicket.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Before Ashwin and Jadeja ran riot, India's most impressive batter on Day 1 was Yashasvi Jaiswal. He compiled 56 runs in 118 balls, getting a standing ovation when he got to his half-century and eventually fell to Nahid Rana. Unlike his more senior teammates, Jaiswal stayed put and saw himself through that difficult initial phase when the ball was doing a lot of talking.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: There was a lot of talk of this being very different for a Chennai pitch as there was a lot of purchase for pacers. However, Ravichandran Ashwin thinks different. "It's a typical, old-fashioned Chennai pitch where overspin will fetch a bit of bounce. The wicket will start doing its tricks much later in the game. There's enough in it for the quicks, good carry, good bounce if we present the seam nice and hard. The new ball will do a bit, there'll be some help for the bowlers, we'll have to start afresh tomorrow. There's a bit in the pitch, it's still damp underneath, so hopefully as it dries out, it quickens up," he said.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Najmul Hossain Shanto had won the toss and chosen to field first.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Do you, like Manjrekar, believe that Rohit and Kohli would have had a better time of it on Day 1 had they played the Duleep Trophy? Remember that Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had also given the first-class domestic tournament a miss.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Rohit Sharma fell after scoring six runs in 19 balls while Virat Kohli was dismissed having scored six in six. Both players fell at a time when the conditions were especially tricky for batters and one might say that they contributed to softening the ball and making it easier for those that came after them but former batter Sanjay Mankjrekar felt that they would've had done better had they played in the Duleep Trophy.

“Considering the amount of international matches that they've played in the last five years, they could've been picked for he Duleep Trophy. I am sure that time out in the middle would have helped them in the first innings where they suddenly came out cold and having had to bat first,” he said on ESPNCricinfo.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Bangladesh have never bowled India out in an innings of a Test match. It looked like they would easily break that run at the end of the first two sessions of the first day. Now though, it's a different story.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: India scored 88 runs and lost three wickets in both the first and second sessions of Day 1. In the third session though, India's score was 163 for the loss of no wickets at all and that is where they may have won the match already.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Their 195-run stand is the highest partnership for the seventh or a lower wicket on the first day of a Test match. Previous highest was 186 by Jesse Ryder and Daniel Vettori vs India in Hamilton in 2009.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: In case you missed it yesterday, here is the moment Ravichandran Ashwin raised his bat a second consecutive time at the Chepauk Stadium in a Test match.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Before Ashwin and Jadeja took the game away from Bangladesh, their fast bowler Hasan Mahmud was he main topic of conversation. He ended the day with figures of 4/58. It is just the second time that a visiting fast bowler has taken four wickets or more on Day 1 of a Test match in India. The last man to do it was the incredible Dale Steyn in Ahmedabad in 2008 when he took figures of 5/23.

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: With this century, Ashwin has become the fifth player to have multiple fifers and centuries at the same venue. The other four were the legendary Garfield Sobers at Headingley (two centuries and two five-fors), Kapil Dev in Chennai itself (two centuries and two five-fors), Chris Cairns in Auckland (two centuries and two five-fors) and Ian Botham at Headingley (two centuries, three five-fors).

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: Ashwin had an extensive chat with the broadcasters after he regaled his beloved Chepauk crowd with yet another masterful century, his second consecutive ton at the ground. Here is what he said:

"It is always a special feeling to play in front of the home crowd. This is a ground I completely love to play cricket in. It's given me a lot of wonderful memories. The last time I got a hundred, you were the coach Ravi bhai (he tells Ravi Shastri who was asking him the question). It does feel special. It helps that I have come back at the back of a T20 tournament (TNPL), worked quite a bit on my batting. Of course, I have always been wafting my bat around outside off-stump. Worked on a few things and on a surface like this with a bit of spice, if you're going after the ball, might as well go after it really hard like Rishabh does. It's an old Chennai surface with a bit of bounce and carry. The red soil pitch allows you to play a few shots if you are willing to just get in line and give it a bit of a tonk when there's width. He (Jadeja) was of real help, there was a point in time where I was really sweating and getting a bit tired, Jaddu noticed it quickly and guided me through that phase. Jaddu has been one of our best batters for our team in the last few years. Him being there, pretty solid and he was also very helpful in terms of telling me that we don't have to convert twos into threes which was really helpful for me. (How will the pitch behave tomorrow?) It's a typical, old-fashioned Chennai pitch where overspin will fetch a bit of bounce. The wicket will start doing its tricks much later in the game. There's enough in it for the quicks, good carry, good bounce if we present the seam nice and hard. The new ball will do a bit, there'll be some help for the bowlers, we'll have to start afresh tomorrow. There's a bit in the pitch, it's still damp underneath, so hopefully as it dries out, it quickens up."

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: This is how the two sides are lining up in Chennai.

India: Rohit Sharma(c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

Bangladesh: Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto(c), Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das(w), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana

India vs Bangladesh Live Score 1st Test, Day 2: India went into Stumps on Day 1 with their score reading 339/6 in 80 overs. The new ball will due first thing today.
