India's U19 women's team successfully retained their T20 World Cup title with a decisive nine-wicket victory against South Africa in the final held at Bayuemas Oval on Sunday. In a contest featuring two unbeaten teams, the defending champions demonstrated their dominance through a thorough performance, achieving consecutive titles.

The match was characterized by low scoring, as India's bowlers established a solid foundation for victory by limiting South Africa to just 82 runs. The disciplined bowling unit consistently applied pressure, preventing the opposition from gaining any momentum and maintaining control throughout the first innings.

Chasing a modest target, India's top order exhibited aggression from the beginning. The openers quickly set the pace, accumulating 18 runs within the first two overs. Despite the loss of G Kamalin in the second-to-last over of the powerplay, the team maintained their assertive strategy, thwarting any attempts by South Africa to mount a comeback.

Gongadi Trisha emerged as a key player, remaining unbeaten on 44 runs, while Sanika Chalke contributed a significant 26*. Together, they ensured a smooth chase, leading India to victory with over eight overs remaining.

Post-match, the Indian players celebrated enthusiastically, and the official ICC Instagram account featured a video of them dancing to Shah Rukh Khan's hit song ‘Chammak Chhallo’.

With this victory, India reaffirmed their supremacy at the U-19 level, paving the way for a bright future in women's cricket. India had previously claimed the title in the inaugural edition in 2023, defeating England by seven wickets in the final.
