Former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has issued a challenge to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), asserting that if the Indian cricket team truly possesses exceptional talent, they should not shy away from competing in 10 Tests, 10 One Day Internationals, and 10 Twenty20 Internationals against Pakistan. He emphasized that such a series would reveal the true superiority of either side.

Recently, India secured a convincing six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025. This one-sided match prompted numerous fans to suggest that the rivalry between India and Pakistan is overstated, given Pakistan's inability to present a formidable challenge to India's illustrious team.

Nonetheless, Saqlain Mushtaq expressed optimism, stating that if the Pakistan team can organize itself effectively, it has the potential to demonstrate its capabilities within the cricketing arena.

In an interview with 24 News HD, Saqlain Mushtaq remarked, “Setting aside political issues, their players are indeed talented and have been performing well in cricket.”

He further stated, “If you genuinely consider yourselves a strong team, I propose we engage in 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is against Pakistan; this would clarify everything.”

‘If we get our preparation right…’

Mushtaq, who has achieved a remarkable total of 496 wickets in international cricket, expressed that with proper preparations, Pakistan could emerge as a formidable contender in the international arena.

He stated, "If we can align our preparations effectively and address the necessary aspects, we will position ourselves to provide strong performances against the world, including India."

Recently, Pakistan faced elimination from the group stage of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy, having failed to secure a victory in any of their matches in Group A.

The team experienced defeats against New Zealand and India, while their final group-stage encounter against Bangladesh was rendered inconclusive due to rain in Rawalpindi.

Ultimately, Pakistan concluded the group stage at the bottom of the points table in Group A, accumulating only 1 point from 3 matches. They first lost to New Zealand by 60 runs and subsequently fell to India by six wickets.
