Nair was acquired for ₹50 lakhs during the mega auction after an impressive domestic season. He topped the charts in the 2024 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 779 runs, including five centuries and a strike rate of 124. He also shone in the Ranji Trophy, scoring 863 runs for the winning Vidarbha team at an average of 53.94. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he hit 255 runs in six innings with a striking rate of 177.08. Additionally, in the first-ever Maharaja Trophy, he racked up 560 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 181.82, leading the run-scoring list.

After the match, Nair shared, “I felt really confident. I knew I was well-prepared to step into the IPL if the chance came my way. It was all about sticking to the preparation I had maintained throughout the season and waiting for my opportunity. I focused on getting ready for the game. I understand that selecting 11 or 12 players is a tough decision for the team, and I’ve always respected that. For me, it was about maintaining the same process that has worked for me and being ready to perform for the team.”
