After a thrilling T20I series, India and Sri Lanka will square off in ODIs. The legendary R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo will host the opening one-day match of the Sri Lanka vs India ODI series 2024 on August 2. Both teams have made significant roster changes for this series.

Just before the series starts, Charith Asalanka was named captain of the Sri Lankan team, and Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back with the Indian team. Because the pitch at this location typically favors spinners, Sri Lanka has only three recognized seamers in their squad. Even with the current ODI quality gap between India and Sri Lanka, it is never easy to defeat Sri Lanka at home.

What happened at the India Vs Sri Lanka T20 World Cup?

India won the T20 series 3-0 after a thrilling Super Over victory over Sri Lanka. Earlier at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, India's spinners bowled with inspiration, restricting Sri Lanka to 137/8, the same total India had scored in their innings. Rain caused the match to be delayed, but Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana claimed three vital wickets to restrict India to a modest total after the captain of Sri Lanka decided to bowl first.
