"My initial thought was that we could achieve our target. Although it appeared to be a daunting challenge, I have experienced numerous matches where one does not concede defeat until the final moment. Therefore, it was essential to maintain our belief, remain at the crease, and approach the game ball by ball, step by step," Pandya conveyed to ICC.

"Let’s see who falters under pressure. My main goal during this match was to ensure that Virat batted for as long as possible. Upon my arrival, my sole message to him was to remain until the 20th over," he continued.

India faced a significant challenge after losing their top and middle order in rapid succession. With the chase appearing increasingly unlikely, Pandya and Kohli established a vital partnership that revitalized India's chances.
