Harbhajan Singh's cryptic post about 'best friends and strangers' following his surprising revelation about MS Dhoni is generating buzz.

On Wednesday, Harbhajan Singh shared a mysterious post on social media that got people talking about a potential fallout with former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Harbhajan, who celebrated India's epic World Cup wins in 2007 and 2011 alongside Dhoni, made waves earlier this week by disclosing that he hasn't had a chat with Dhoni in more than ten years.

In a chat with News18, Harbhajan revealed a surprising detail: he and MS Dhoni haven't talked outside of cricket for over a decade. "No, I don’t talk to Dhoni. We had some conversations when I was with CSK, but that’s about it. It’s been more than 10 years," Harbhajan mentioned.

He went on to say that during his time with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 2018 to 2020, their exchanges were purely professional and limited to what happened on the field. "While we were playing in the IPL at CSK, we would chat, but it was all about the game. After that, he never came to my room, and I didn’t visit his either," he added.

Harbhajan's comments came at a time when he posted something mysterious on X (formerly Twitter), which added to the buzz about his rocky relationship with Dhoni. He shared a message saying, “Strangers can become best friends just as easily as best friends can become strangers.”

No hard feelings.

Harbhajan made it clear that he holds no grudges against Dhoni, but his comments suggested there's been some unresolved tension for quite a while. "I don't have any issues with him. If he wants to say something, he can reach out. But if he really wanted to, he would have done it by now," he noted.

On another note, Harbhajan stressed the importance of mutual respect in friendships. "Relationships are all about give and take. If I show you respect, I expect the same in return. Or at least a response from you," he added.

Harbhajan mentioned that if he tries to connect and doesn't get a response, he just moves on. "If I call you once or twice and you don’t reply, I’ll probably only see you when it’s necessary," he said.

Dhoni, who guided India to amazing victories like the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, is really respected for his leadership and strategy. But during his time, there was a shift as younger players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R. Ashwin stepped up, often leaving veteran players like Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh on the bench. This change in the team dynamics might have contributed to the growing gap between Dhoni and Harbhajan.
