In light of the ongoing drama with the Rajasthan Royals, who are facing match-fixing allegations after their narrow loss to the Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur last week, former Pakistan cricketer Tanveer Ahmed dropped a bombshell about the BCCI and the IPL. Ahmed took to social media to assert that many IPL teams are linked to fixers. The ex-fast bowler, who played for Pakistan in all formats, pointed out that while the BCCI promotes the IPL as the largest T20 league globally, it also serves as a hotspot for fixing. He stated, 'BCCI claims our IPL is the biggest league in the world, and while that’s true, it’s also where the most fixing occurs, with many teams being controlled by fixers.'

What's the fuss about Rajasthan Royals?

Jaideep Bihani, the head of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), claimed on Tuesday that the Rajasthan Royals were involved in match-fixing after they couldn't score nine runs in the last over of their previous two games against Delhi Capitals and LSG. The Royals responded by calling these accusations 'totally false and unfounded,' and they sent a strongly worded letter to the Rajasthan government and the state's Sports Council, demanding action against Bihani. A BCCI official spoke to the Times of India, dismissing the allegations, stating that the RCA is currently dissolved. 'An ad-hoc committee has been set up, and with elections coming up, there's a lot of drama. Everyone is just looking for attention.' The official also emphasized that the BCCI has an anti-corruption unit monitoring IPL activities around the clock. 'The BCCI has a dedicated anti-corruption team working 24/7 to keep the game clean. These allegations are completely unfounded,' he said.
