Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was released from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after spending approximately two weeks there. He exited the facility located in Bhiwandi, Thane district, around 4 PM. Initially admitted for a urinary infection and cramps, further examinations revealed that he had blood clots in the brain.
Kambli took the opportunity to address the media gathered outside the hospital, sharing a New Year's message and urging individuals to avoid alcohol and narcotic substances, emphasizing that such vices can ruin lives. He expressed optimism about returning to the cricket field soon.
Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who provided Kambli's treatment at Akruti Hospital, confirmed that the former athlete is now "completely fit," although he will need to observe certain precautions moving forward.

Having previously garnered admiration for his cricketing prowess during his career, where he participated in 17 Test matches and 104 One Day Internationals, the left-handed batsman has now delighted his fans with his dance performance from the hospital ward, signalling a notable recovery in his health.
Shiv Sena has stepped in to assist former cricketer Kambli, with Mangesh Chivate, the Officer on Special Duty for Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, meeting him to provide full assurance of the party's support. The Shrikant Shinde Foundation has announced a total assistance of ₹5 lakh for the cricketer.
Kambli attracted significant attention last month when he publicly unveiled a memorial for the esteemed cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar at the renowned Shivaji Park, accompanied by his childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar. During the event, Kambli's health appeared to be concerning, prompting expressions of worry from several former cricketers.
Over the past few years, Kambli has faced numerous health issues, including two heart surgeries in 2013, for which he received financial assistance from Tendulkar.
