New Delhi: A total of fifteen prominent players from the LIV Golf League and nine champions from the Asian Tour’s 2024 season are set to participate in the $2 million International Series, which will make its inaugural appearance in India at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram from January 30 to February 2.

Leading the impressive roster is Bryson DeChambeau, the reigning major champion, who achieved top-six finishes in three of the four Majors in 2024, including a victory at the US Open. Notably, six of the top 20 players from last year's LIV Golf League will also compete in this event.

DeChambeau will be joined by his Crushers GC teammates, Paul Casey and Anirban Lahiri. Additionally, Carlos Ortiz from Torque GC will participate alongside his captain Joaquin Niemann, as well as fellow Mexican player Abraham Ancer from Fireballs GC.

Other confirmed participants include Mito Pereira and Sebastian Munoz, completing the representation from Torque GC, while Harold Varner III from 4Aces GC is also set to compete.

Andy Ogletree, the champion of the International Series 2023 Rankings and a three-time winner, will be in attendance, along with Peter Uihlein from RangeGoats GC, who was a two-time champion in the previous season and finished as the runner-up in the rankings behind Niemann.

John Catlin, the winner of the 2024 Asian Tour Order of Merit, made a notable impact as an alternate in the LIV Golf League last season after securing consecutive victories at the International Series Macau presented by Wynn and the Saudi Open presented by PIF, is also confirmed. He will be joined by fellow Americans Caleb Surratt from Legion XIII and Cameron Tringale from HyFlyers GC.

In addition to these international stars, top Indian professionals such as Shubhankar Sharma and Jeev Milkha Singh will be competing. The field is further enhanced by the participation of Gaganjeet Bhullar, who holds the record for the most wins on the Asian Tour by an Indian, with a total of eleven victories.

Lahiri (T-5 at the 2015 PGA Championship), Shubhankar (T-8 at the 2023 Open Championship), and Jeev Milkha (T-9 at the 2008 PGA Championship) are the sole Indian golfers to have achieved a top-10 finish in a Major tournament.

A noteworthy newcomer to the competition is the teenage amateur Kartik Singh, who secured third place at the 2024 Junior Players Championship. At just 15 years old, Kartik is the highest-ranked Indian amateur and has participated in the Junior Presidents Cup. He was also part of the formidable Asia-Pacific team that triumphed over the European team to claim the esteemed Bonallack Trophy in the UAE earlier this month.

Newly signed LIV Golf players Luis Masaveu of Fireballs GC and Frederik Kjettrup of Cleeks GC are also in the lineup, with the event in India serving as an ideal preparation for the promising young Spaniard and the skilled Dane ahead of their significant debuts in the season's opening fixture at LIV Golf Riyadh the following week.

Thailand’s Suteepat Prateeptienchai, the champion of both the Yeangder TPC and the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open, joins Uihlein and Catlin as the third two-time winner of 2024 in the field.

Additionally, two more champions from The International Series last season, Richard T Lee, winner of the BNI Indonesian Masters, and MJ Maguire, who triumphed over Catlin in a playoff at the Black Mountain Championship, are confirmed participants in the Gurugram event.

The tournament will also feature Thailand’s Rattanon Wannasrichan (SJM Macao Open), England’s Steve Lewton (Mandiri Indonesia Open), South Africa’s Jbe Kruger (Mercuries Taiwan Masters), and the Korean duo of Hongtaek Kim (GS Caltex Maekyung Open Golf Championship) and Minkyu Kim (Kolon Korea Open presented by ELORD), all of whom bring impressive winning records to the competition.
