Fake Vaibhav Suryavanshi Profile Sparks Frenzy with Sachin Tendulkar Reply; X Steps In
3 days ago | 5 Views
With IPL performance of Vaibhav Suryavanshi's caliber - he became the youngest and the fastest Indian to achieve an IPL century at the age of 14 - comes fame, recognition, accolades, and admiration. While much of it is authentic, like his charming smile, some can be fabricated. When 14-year-old Vaibhav was astonishing everyone by outperforming the 'men' of Gujarat Titans in an unprecedented display by a teenager in the IPL, a counterfeit X profile of the Rajasthan Royals batter caused turmoil on social media.
Utilizing Vaibhav Suryavanshi's dazzling performance on Monday as leverage, a profile named Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, operating under the handle @VaibhavOfficia, quickly amassed followers and significant interaction. The profile featured Vaibhav's image in RR attire as the display picture, while the header photo showed Vaibhav in India U19 whites.
The impersonated profile shared several tweets from the official X account of RR before receiving its highest engagement with a response to Sachin Tendulkar's message. The iconic Indian cricketer quoted highlights of Vaibhav's explosive 101 off 38 balls, stating: "Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played! ! "
Vaibhav's bogus profile responded to Tendulkar's commendation by stating: "Thank you so much Sir. It’s been a dream to earn a compliment from someone I’ve admired. Grateful beyond words. "
The tweet attracted significant attention, as a majority of X users believed it was authentic. Following its accumulation of 55,000 likes and over 4000 reposts, X intervened to address the misinformation.
X offered three explanations for the account's falseness. "1. Not followed by the Rajasthan Royals (they follow all their players). 2. Account handle employing ‘Officia’; professional accounts usually do not use such names. 3. All tweets and replies appeared on 28th April, probably to generate engagement. " it stated.

The account was suspended hours later, but the user used the same credentials to form a new profile with the ID @Vaibhavsooryava. The reply to Tendulkar's tweet was not there, but the other post remained.
However, it is only a matter of time before X suspends even this profile of the impostor.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi steals the show
Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest centurion in men's Twenty20 cricket on Monday as he led Rajasthan Royals to an eight-wicket triumph over GT. The left-handed batsman hit 11 sixes and seven fours in his 101 from 38 balls, as the home team successfully chased a 209-run goal in 15. 5 overs.
He reached his century in 35 balls to mark the second-fastest hundred in IPL history, while partnering with Yashasvi Jaiswal in a 166-run opening stand.
"It is a very good feeling. It's my first hundred in the IPL and it’s my third innings. The outcome has reflected here after the practice before the tournament," the player of the match, Suryavanshi stated.
"I just watch the ball and play. It has been a dream to achieve a 100 in the IPL and today it came true. There is no fear. I don’t overthink, I just concentrate on playing. "
Suryavanshi's century was also the fastest by an Indian in the IPL, surpassing Yusuf Pathan's 37-ball performance for Rajasthan against the Mumbai Indians in 2010.
