Former Chennai Super Kings spinner Shadab Jakati reflected on his experience with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and provided insights into their ongoing struggle to secure an IPL title. Jakati, who began his IPL career with CSK, joined RCB in 2014 but had limited opportunities, participating in only one match during his inaugural season. RCB remains one of the three franchises that have yet to claim an IPL championship since the league's inception. The Bengaluru team has predominantly depended on Virat Kohli and several international players to achieve success, yet this strategy has not yielded the desired results.

Having been part of CSK's victorious squads in 2010 and 2011, Jakati contrasted his time at RCB with his previous experience. He noted that RCB's emphasis on just two or three key players hindered their chances of winning the trophy.

"It is a team sport. To secure championships, the entire team must function cohesively. Relying on only two or three individuals is insufficient. Chennai had a robust core of Indian players complemented by capable foreign talent. Establishing the right combination is crucial. During my time at RCB, the focus was primarily on just a couple of players," Jakati stated in an interview with Sportskeeda.

Discussing the differing dynamics within the two teams, Jakati asserted that he observed a lack of camaraderie among the players at RCB.

"There was a significant contrast in team management and the atmosphere in the dressing room. While the players were talented, there was a noticeable absence of camaraderie, and they did not bond effectively," Jakati remarked.

“CSK looked after their players nicely”

Jakati, who played a pivotal role in dismissing Sachin Tendulkar during the IPL 2010 final, remarked that the management of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) provided excellent support to their players, which he identified as a significant distinction from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

"The influence of team management is quite substantial. The management in Chennai was exceptionally good; they took great care of their players. It is these minor details that create a considerable impact. This is the contrast I observed between CSK and RCB," he stated.

RCB has relied heavily on Virat Kohli among their Indian players and has let go of notable talents such as KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Mohammed Siraj, and Yuzvendra Chahal over the years. However, this season, they have adopted a new strategy by appointing Rajat Patidar as their captain.
