Manchester United got back to winning form by taking down Fulham in the Premier League. This victory has pushed them up to 12th place in the standings, providing a much-needed boost for manager Ruben Amorim, who has been under a lot of pressure lately. However, the club is still surrounded by controversies.

Ruben is currently at the center of a big debate after he openly criticized striker Marcus Rashford. He made it clear that he would prefer to have his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach, Jorge Vital, on the bench instead of Rashford due to the latter's poor training habits.

For those who might not know, Rashford hasn't been part of Manchester United's matchday squad for the last six weeks and hasn't played since December 12.

“It’s always the same reason – the training, the way I see a footballer should do in life. It’s every day, every detail,” Amorim explained to reporters when asked about Rashford's absence for the Fulham match.

“If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player; if you do the maximum and right things, we can use every player," he added.

We really miss having some speed on the bench

Ruben mentioned that the bench is missing some speed, but he wouldn’t consider putting Marcus Rashford in that spot since he hasn’t been giving his all lately.

"You can tell we’re lacking a bit of pace on the bench, but I’d rather have [Manchester United goalkeeper coach Jorge] Vital there than a player who isn’t putting in maximum effort every day," Amorim stated.

With the January Transfer window closing on February 3, there’s still uncertainty around Rashford’s future. Reports suggest that both Saudi Arabia and Monaco are interested in him, but there hasn’t been any official bid yet.

Rashford is still under a lucrative contract that’s about a year and a half old, reportedly earning close to $400,000 a week.

He recently sent his congratulations to the club following United's 1-0 victory over Fulham in the Premier League.
