Novak Djokovic's team pulled a bit of a stunt on Tuesday by blocking the TV camera from filming them during his quarterfinal match against Carlos Alcaraz at the 2025 Australian Open on Rod Laver Arena. This happened in the first set, right after Djokovic snagged the first game.

In the players' box, Djokovic's wife Jelena was there with their two kids, Stefan, 9, and Tara, 7. There's usually a camera set up in the front row of the box to catch the family's reactions during the match. But after Djokovic won that opening game, his business advisor Mark Madden strolled over and covered the camera with a sweatband.

There’s still no clear reason for the incident, but it’s happening during the ongoing clash between the Serb and Australian media outlet Channel 9. After his fourth-round victory in Melbourne, the 24-time Grand Slam champ skipped the on-court interview with Jim Courier. He later explained that his decision was a protest against a remark made by Channel 9's Tony Jones.

Djokovic found the comment to be "insulting and offensive," claiming that Jones was making a "mockery" of his fans.

In response, Jones publicly apologized to Djokovic, stating that his comments were intended as "banter." He said, “I thought it was humorous, which is pretty much my style. However, I learned on Saturday morning from Tennis Australia through Djokovic's team that they were really unhappy with what I said.

“So, I reached out to them right away and apologized. I stand by that apology to Novak… I truly apologize if he felt disrespected.”

Tennis Australia later confirmed that Djokovic “acknowledges the public apology as requested and is ready to move forward.”
