Novak Djokovic's 'Mamba mentality' was prominently evident as he overcame the challenge posed by Carlos Alcaraz, advancing to yet another semi-final at the Australian Open. Following his victory, the Serbian's spirits were notably elevated, with his children, Stefan and Tara, seen in the player's box alongside his wife, Jelena.

In his post-match discussion with Jim Courier, Djokovic exhibited his nurturing and protective nature as a father. He noticed his children watching the match despite the late hour of 1 AM in Melbourne.

Djokovic triumphed over Carlos Alcaraz with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4, marking him as the only male player to reach 50 Grand Slam semi-finals.

“I’m surprised my kids are still here,” Djokovic remarked during the interview with Jim Courier.

“Thank you for supporting me. But it’s 1 AM! When are you going to sleep tonight? They don’t want me to talk about them," he continued.

In response, Djokovic's children and wife, Jelena, shared smiles, while Tara was observed tapping her watch with her finger.

Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz's Australian Open quarter-final lasted more than 3.5 hours, with the former coming out on top. Djokovic will now take on Alexander Zverev in the semi-final on Friday, January 24.

'One of the most epic matches'

Following his victory over Alcaraz, Djokovic described the match as "epic" and expressed nothing but admiration for his Spanish rival.

"First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest respect and admiration for Carlos Alcaraz and all that he represents, as well as his accomplishments at such a young age," Djokovic remarked.

"He is an outstanding individual and an even more formidable competitor... I genuinely wish that this match had been the final. It ranks among the most epic encounters I have experienced on this court—indeed, on any court," he continued.

Djokovic has now advanced to the semi-finals of the Australian Open for the twelfth time in his illustrious career. The Serbian is in pursuit of his 25th Grand Slam title, and it remains to be seen if he will achieve this milestone.
