CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan acknowledged that they are not performing well in cricket at this time. Nevertheless, he maintains confidence in MS Dhoni's captaincy and Shivam Dube's batting skills to help them improve in the latter half of the league stage.

“Everyone may be somewhat disappointed with CSK's performance this year. Naturally, such occurrences are expected. We have experienced this before as well. We are aware that we are not playing good cricket currently. However, we anticipate that in the upcoming matches, we should perform better. We have a player of Shivam Dube's caliber on our team. He has excelled over the years. And with Thala leading, it's just a matter of time before we make a comeback,” Kasi Viswanathan stated at an event in Chennai.

The injury to captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has additionally weakened their batting order. Consequently, the team management has commenced providing opportunities to young talents like Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed.

CSK need to repeat the heroics of 2010

Viswanathan wants the existing team to draw inspiration from their 2010 campaign. The situation was quite comparable for them in 2010 after they suffered five consecutive defeats, but Dhoni motivated them to recover and secure their first title.

“Certainly, we recall the year 2010. We experienced five losses in succession and went on to clinch the cup. That was the inaugural year we claimed the title. I am confident the boys are dedicated. The team is dedicated. I believe we will deliver improved performances in the forthcoming matches,” he mentioned.

MS Dhoni and his team will next compete against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, where both sides will aim to secure two points to get their campaign back on track.
