During the ILT20I match against the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Shanaka contributed significantly to the late stages of the innings. Coming to bat with 14 balls remaining in the Dubai Capitals' innings, he faced 12 deliveries and capitalized on the opportunity, scoring 34 runs, which included four fours and two sixes, helping the Capitals reach a total of 217-4.

Warner, making his season debut, was instrumental in the match, scoring an impressive unbeaten 93, which propelled the Dubai Capitals to their sixth win in seven encounters against the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

As the Knight Riders pursued a challenging target of 218, they faced a daunting task, needing a win to remain in contention. Their batting began cautiously, but once they found their rhythm, they became formidable. Andries Gous was particularly destructive, hitting six boundaries in just 11 balls, leading his team to 50 runs without loss by the end of the powerplay.
